Weekend Rundowns

The bouncers at the Key actively provoked a fight with 5 or 6 guys that were refused entry - pulling batons and assorted other weaponary when the fighting started. The whole queue was held up while the entire security team participated in the brawl.

I'd forgotten that bit until you posted it!

In hindsight I'm pleased I bribed my way out of the situation - might have taken a few clumps on the way out the back door otherwise!

Had another one of my traditional disco naps downstairs at the key...

Another legendary weekend, met loads of peeps from here, there...

Probably a few of them weren't even there!!!!

Was that on that huge square seating thing by the door, i did last week too

btw Matt, i owe you a set of South Park glasses :?, ive not forgotten :D

Concerning the bouncers at Key.. you guys need to go to Formulate more often..!! I've seen the whole chasing people loads of times.. One time they actually reached York Way and then turned right into the distance!!

To be fair to them I think they're a heavy handed becuase they've had lots of trouble with big groups forcing their way in etc..

Friday - wedding, was a fantastic wedding one of those that no-one cares

Saturday - Died all day and had to go dog sitting as my mum and dad were away for the weekend. Cooked a lovely pasta and chicken dish for my bf and watched Big Bro (we had to tape it). Early Night

Sunday - Went shopping for last things for Ibiza, cant believe this time next week I will be there :D

Sounds like many of you boys and girls had quite the weekend, though Robo's weekend report was a bit of a disapointment  Would have loved to have witnessed the NDSM/Key carnage.

Anyway, here we go:

Friday - The missus and I started out with drinks with a friend who is visiting from the States for work (who informed us that he's moving back to Moscow in 2 months!). We then went out for some Georgian food... for those who don't know, Georgian is one of the 5 best cuisines on earth 8) Afterwards over to club Fabrique where we accidentally lost the visiting friend and his hangers on. Then over to club XIII where we ran into some other friends. Home sometime around dawn, I think...

Saturday - Another hangover free morning... I must be the luckiest man on Earth :D I accidentally erased all 700 contacts and 70 calendar entries from my new phone  so I went into the office to 'synchronize' with my computer there.

Then come the fun part - we went to the Hollywood-themed evening party for the Russian Open golf tournament, where sponsors Cadillac had arranged for actors David Carradine (Bill in Kill Bill) and Dolph Lundgren (of Rocky 4 'I will brrrrreak you' fame) to show up :D Carradine walked right by me in such a poor state that I heard he went to crash on the country club hotel's lobby sofa! (waitor!? I'll have what he's having! ) and I actually got to briefly meet/shake hands with Lundgren. Open bar was much appreciated.

Home around 11ish before heading out again at about 1am to meet some people at Soviet kitsch-themed club Petrovich :? One drink and off to club L'eto to see RUPAUL! :D :D :D He worked it on the catwalk, ladies and gentlemen, with a rousing half-hour set amidst 3 costume changes! The DJ played some great tunes afterwards so we danced about for a bit then home by 5.

Sunday - relaxed all day, assisted Barbie and Tom with their name games, then off to SportLand to watch Chelsea embarass themselves against Wigan  (we'll still take the 3 points, thank you). Then grocery shopping.

If I've had the proper amount of sleep, I feel fine on the day after about 90% of the time 8) It's a problem in that I don't take weekends off and hate sitting in on a Fri or Sat. It's a good thing because I can party on :D

if you don't take weekends off then thats surely a sign that you obviosuly don't 'ave it' enough.

so there 8)

ahhh, dude, I'm a little older than you so I can only 'ave it' so much

I'm usually out until morning, but I rarely carry on past 7 or 8 anymore.

However, I heard my old favorite after-hours club has made peace (or financial arrangements :?:) with the frequently-raiding masked narco-cops  I might have to revisit my form of 2-3 years ago ;)

Friday: Chilled with a few beers in front of the TV

Sat: NDSM good to see everyone again had a great time cant wait to do it all again! Glad you had a good birthday karen we were going to join you at the Key but Erin was feeling unwell.

Sun: Slept!

Ferd, I've been at Egg when some guys pulled up outside with a gun and the doorman handled it so professionally I was really impressed. The security at the Key are just out for a ruck and just don't know how to behave.

Don't always do this 'cos it's usually the same most weeks. However;

Fri: Usual gig, same as always, steady away, nothing spectacular.

Sat: Busy busy night, we were still full when I finished at midnight. :D Customers were complaining wanting me to carry on. :D No chance, was outta there by 12.15am 'cos I was taking my gear home and a quick freshen up and off to Newcastle to Shindig to catch Express-2 @ the new Digital venue. Just got in and got a drink at the bar and bumped straight into GingerFreak, we went on the dancefloor and met Puppylover & co. on her birthday bash. Wahey it was all good! Danced the night away. Had difficulty communicating because of the amazing Funktion One sound system. Jeez it was loud, my ears were ringing all day Sunday. 8O

Sun: Out on the lash round the local disco pubs. Doing holiday cover at one of them next Sunday, so, spoke to the owner who turns out to be well into house! Will try and persuade him to put me on doing a House night on a Thursday. ;) Ended up in the nightclub, usual DJ is on holiday, wasn't any better though. Just need 3 CD's to DJ here folks.............Clubland 5,6 & 7! 8O :P

Mon: Spent all day recovering, what did I drink last night? :?

Well a weekend of carnage - and I survived!!

Fri: Shopping for merchandise - a quick test - :D :D 8) - forced ourselves to stop and make it an early night!!!

Sat up early, go and collect Gingerfreak from station - he is exactly as I pictured him (only a tad smaller). Had a get to know you pint, and then wandered off to some art galleries in Newcastle for a bit of culture!!

Back to Chez puppy, where we settled down for tea drinking and merchandise testing, all happy!!!

Mr PL arrives home - more naughtiness starts then off to meet the rest of the gang at The Other Room. lots of silliness ensues and then off to throw a few shapes on the dancefloor next door at Digital. The sound hits you straight off as you move into the main room, sort drinks out and our VIP wristbands (specially printed with Vaguely Important Person!!!  ). Ressies were spot on as usual, music was just what the doctor prescribed, however, on X Press 2 hitting the decks the music, for me, just didnt make the grade, it was too hitty missy, too breaky and just not the X Press 2 I have been used to over the years, still its hard not to have a brilliant night when the company was fabulous, you are the centre of attention from all your friends and the extra curriculum bits and bobs are totally doing the business.

Unexpected treat - met DJ Soulman on Sat night at Digital

After ours back at Chez Puppy for egg cup challenges, silliness and stimulants...... Mr PL finally allows me to open up my presents that he has been hiding all week.

Thank you Jam - quality gift 8) 8)
Thank you Ginge - started reading last night when i could focus again.... 8) 8)

7.30am - attempt sleep - give up after a couple of hours - decide to continue egg cup challenges to watch the cricket - bizarre yet extremelly amusing - very funny to watch Ginge leave for his train 1 hour after taking the challenge.........

Decide basically - its no point stopping now until nature says so.........

Mon and Tues - total recovery days - lots of lovely healthy food, lots of lovely long healthy walks with the dog - today I feel 21!!!!!!!

Fri: Little bit of merchandise testing, reasonably early night.

Sat/Sun: Up to celebrate Pups' coming-of-age (middle age that is). Train up, couple of pints, she's just as I pictured too although a bit taller. Go round a couple of art galleries, wanted one piece, fall for three. Still can't choose between them and I can't afford them all. Watch Newcastle disappear under a monsoon. Back at Pups', begin the festivities, check into hotel, more festivities, on to the pub/club/etc., top night despite some incredibly weak biscuits. Meet DJ Soulman but my ears are a bit fooked by then, so sorry Les if I was hard work at times. Back to the house where puppies are loved, Mr. and Mrs. PL defy their years (not unusual apparently) and we keep going till the sun comes up. Back to hotel, 2 hours sleep then checkout, back to the PL household where I watch cricket till they rouse themselves, then eggcups away (I disturbingly actually like the taste of them now) until I go for a metro, then train, then bus home. Not good. So I cheat and get a taxi instead of a bus. Cracking train journey though.

Excellent weekend overall. Cheers Pups, lovely to meet you and Mr. PL. Think I'll get some more sleep before the next one though...
