Weekend Rundowns

Bored at home on a Sunday night, so I figured I'd get the weekend rundown thread up and running. We'll be overrun with news from those returning from the Buckley/Space weekend extravaganza soon, so this might be the only chance for the rest of us to revel in our own revelry

Friday - Faithless concert at the Hermitage Gardens. Nice outdoor venue and the usual energetic performance by this great live band. The set was a little shorter than usual, unfortunately (only an hour), but still good. My only other complaint is that after months of touring, Maxi's voice is almost shot (but I did get to say hello to him on his way out :D )

Onwards to Bar 30/7 for a couple of drinks, then to the glamourous club First for the opening of their summer terrace. Left the missus there and headed over to the Godskitchen party at Studio 11 where I cought about 90 minutes of NastyDirtySexMusic before Different Gear came on. Unsure exactly when I got home, but it was well past sunrise 8O

Saturday - After a recovery day of lying about the apartment, headed over to a new DJ bar called Ogonyok. Nice place, good tunes... just enough to get us in the mood for Club XIII, now fully-remodeled and reopened. If any of you are in Moscow, you must check this place - it is the most gorgeous club anywhere. Local DJs Miller and Grad kicked some funky house butt all over the place.

Sunday - grocery shopping, made some shrimp fried rice and chicken with snow peas in black bean sauce. Otherwise, little movement. Might do some laundry soon... ok, maybe not.

Had a lovely relaxing wkend.

Fri - my Mum, Dad, Gran and Grandad were down so had a nice evening with them talking all things Northern as Tom sat there thinking he'd just stepped into an episode of Emmerdale

Sat day - spent the day with them in Richmond, shopping and having lunch by the Thames.

Sat night - me and Tom went to our fave tapas restaurant in preparation for my annual trip to the cinema 8O Fortunately after we'd eaten Tom bought me 2 bottles of wine which I smuggled into the cinema and we went to watch late viewing of It's All Gone Pete Tong. Well what a pile of sh*te it was, even the Ibiza bits didn't make it any better  Fortunately I had my wine for company and it's amazing how much fun you can get up to in an empty cinema ;)

Sun - went out and bought last bits for Ibiza, did Ibiza fashion shows for Tom and made him play the 'Guess where Sar is going today' game, it's a pre-Ibiza tradition which as you can imagine Tom loves lots  Then spent the evening doing 'treatments' on Tom

All in all a much needed relaxing wkend, now bring on Nastydirtysexmusic for the final pre-Ibiza warm-up

They were great as usual this weekend. It was suitably nasty and dirty
My Ibiza warm-up is Steve Lawler next weekend

Saturday - Roger sanchez at turnmills.

Brill night. Sanchez is the man. Hadn't seen him play before and will deffinately be paying him a visit at pacha this summer. Played everything, right across the board(as you would expect during a 10hr set). house, techy stuff, trance, and few classics thrown in for good measure. Proper good night. Good crowd for turnmills as well. Not to many beer boys, and there were enough people there right till the end at 8am.

Another one converted 8)
Sanchez's sets rock. They are great for people who just love music. Great crowd reader, lots of energy. So does that mean you'll join us for the Release Yourself opening? (assuming proper recovery from We Love)

I've always really enjoyed Release Yourself whenever I've been but we're going right thru for the Space/DC10 double header so there'll be no chance we'll be up for anything come Monday night 8O

Ya, I'm bummed that I will, yet again, miss Monday's at DC10 but I can't sacrifice Roger. I hope I can make it out there another day/night.

Well my weekend was lovely.... I got appendicitis. 8O

For all of you that haven't experienced it.... THE MOST EXCRUCIATING PAIN I can recall having, EVER. It literally feels like a stabbing.

Right now I am all looped up on Vicodin so my writing may not be the best. I was out dancing with LagunaBeachCA on Thursday night, and I had sorta a dull ache in my tum all night.

Woke up at 4AM Friday and barfed the pain was so bad... horrible fever.... then I lay in a warm bath to try to calm the pain, it worked for a lil while and I was able to fall asleep. Woke in the morn, and the pain still really bad. After testing all day Friday in the ER, they went in and yanked the angry little worm that was PachaGirl's appendix.

Just a note... always take stabbing abdominal pain seriously. If I had waited to go to the ER much longer, my appendix could have burst and I could have died!! It is really serious. Well I hurt right now, but I missed you guys so I thought I would drop on by and say hello for a bit :)

Sorry to hear that.

I know how you feel cos i got it when i was only 2 years old. I was in terrible pain and when my mum looked at my stomach all this pus was coming out of my belly button 8O

Apparently i would have been dead if the ambulance had been 10 minutes late

Hope you feel better soon ;)

Friday: Pep took me to a posh japanesse cos he wants to buy a big motorbike and had to convince me that he needs 8O a bigger one. We met there two friends so we had dinner with them and then went to Glaciar for beers in the terrace watching the weirdos going by
Saturday: we went to the beach with my friends, had a paella in a very ancient chiringuito (beach bar). At night met my other friends in our friend's bar and spent the next 8 hours drinking, smoking and laughing
Sunday: went to the swimmingpool for a couple of hours

Fri: Got the lunchtime train to London - sank 2 bottles of champagne for the journey - into KX a hop skip and a jump to Paddington for train to reading - £11.90 for a single ticket for a 15 min journey - What rip off!! Cant believe how expensive it is to get anywhere in London ( after beingt used to freebie taxis on account normally!! 8O ) Got to Rennaisance hotel - very nice, quick shower met in the bar with the group and the hotel manager - quick couple of drinks than a fabulous 3 course meal with more free drinks. Food was fab, and the hotel spared no expense in wining and dining us. Jumped a taxi to the Madjeski Hotel attached to Reading FC, very nice contemporary hotel style where more champagned cocktails and canapes awaited us after a recce of the types of rooms/suites...
The hotel got us a private car and guest lists to BarMango in Reading itself, I have to say I was pretty impressed with the place considering I had been "good" all night - canny little bar/club (short on space for dancing tho) playing some nice house/tech house with a rock edge later.... quite amusing to see all the people I was with from work have their first experience of my music, clubbing nights and their faces looking at dance monkeys gurning away..... 8O 8O
I could see it was getting a bit much for them by 1.30am so we adjourned back to the hotel bar (where I was gonna have a nightcap then retire to my room.) Best laid plans and all that, ended up sitting with 15 blokes on a stag weekend, once they found out we were all happily married and not up for an shennanigans whatsoever (3 of them had already moved their wedding rings to a different finger on first meeting up with us - much to our amusement and whereby we ripped the p155 out of them for this all night) they turned out to be a real good laugh - night ended when the bar pleaded with us to go to bed at 5.00am because the staff were knackered and wanted to go to bed and they had run out of whiskey and Bombay Sapphire Gin. :D :D
Sat: After 3 hours drunken sleep - full English Breakfast and the train back to Newcastle..... For something I wasnt looking forward to that much, it turned out to be a cracking little night away from home...
:D

Sunday was major major hangover day.... urgh!!
