Weekend Plans

Busy one ahead:

Tonight - lads of rugby training on astro so definitely on despite the rain.
Tommorow: pizza and Arsenal with boy 1, while Mrs B takes boy 2 to a rugby tournament (on same astro so deffo on!)
Saturday: Mrs will need to take kids to Ju-Jitsu as I have a 1.30 ko quarter-final in Acton, so have to leave earlier than usual. I'm straight out on a Xmas pub-crawl/dinner with 14 of our mates. Driving and Guinness 0.0 so no Sunday hangover.

Sunday: Mrs taking boy 1 to a lunch and cinema playdate with his best mate who moved away. I'll be taking boy 2 to his rugby match in the morning and then to his mate's birthday party at the local Powerleague.

Ideally, checking scores throughout the weekend will see an Arsenal win and losses for Chelsea, City and Liverpool. And Spurs, obviously
Football weekend not so good so far...inc my game being called off for waterlogged pitch

Clockwork in MAN tomorrow afternoon forward slash evening, but i’m unsure if i’ve made the right choice?
Going with an open minded “party” attitude and hopefully hear some decent quality classics, rather than a cheesy 90s mix CD style suitcase at the door fest.

Fri: Arsenal and Pizza

Sat: Ju jitsu for kids, then drop to my folks footy for me. 3 points and a league rival losing would see us top for NY/Xmas Straight to clubhouse after for Xmas drinks and Xmas Jumpers

Sun: Smug fresheness from Guinness 0.0s St night, for kids rugby in morning, then an afternoon of family fun to plan

Fri - Wrestling with lad and two school mates, to watch my mate fight. Good, old fashion fun which the boys loved. Mrs is in Liverpool for a work's do.

Sat - u8 game in the morning. May have lunch at the local pub, then son and I will go on the Turf to watch the game.

Sun - Polar Express in Manchester. Should be good, added bonus that we won't be rough ☺️

Weekend of joy!

Eldest was player of the day at Arsenal Friday, I won 5-0 yesterday and scored, Arsenal nicked a last minute win after a dire performance versus bottom of table Wolves, youngest excelled at rugby this morning, and then the good old Spursy icing on the cake, them losing 3 nil to Forest.

Went out locally…very good. Then went to see the football at Pittodrie - great. First time in 40 years they served alcohol at a game in Scotland. £5.50 not too bad i thought - Mardi sadly so tasted like pish and in a plastic glass…shouldn’t complain. I have 7 of them! Now at Aberdeen airport on way back!

Madri is rank. Makes out it's Spanish but is actually made in Newport, in South Wales.

Packed weekend

Fri - picked up son from school to Super Pod in Howarth. 15 of us on a nice site, club house with a nice bar and play room for kids. Very plush pod, en suite and seperate bedroom.
Mrs won £1000 on Play Your Cards Right* 🥳 our table also won the quiz, good night with the families

Sat - kids played football before we headed to Howarth. A moving nativity, donkeys, Christmas carols moved up through the town. Visited a few pubs, fish n chips and then back to club house.

Sun - off at 9am, dropped dog then headed to a bakery. Family Christmas bakery class, actually loads of fun and loads of cakes and few bucks fizz. Visited a restaurant afterwards

*booked a holiday to Egypt over a coffee Saturday morning with the winnings for boxing day 😁

Is it the weekend? Hard to tell

Chilled after a run on Boxing Day (Friday), other than a traditional security check on my Football Club Clubhouse. Attempted break-in or vandalism, who knows? But first pane of each of 4 double floor-to-ceiling windows smashed and all 4 glass panels on front doors smashed. Twunts. Police response was rapid, in that I had the emailed letter to say they wouldn't be investigating within a few hours.

Saturday - dropped folks to my folks, bought some new bedsheets (rock and roll!) watched Arsenal and a few bits of other games. Got a run in.

Sunday - plan is a run, then packing, then early to bed for 3am get-up for family trip to Tenerife. Oh, and hopefully watch Palace turnover Spurs for the lols.

All the above surrounded by copious mince pies, choclates, Xmas dinner leftovers and numerous Guinness 0.0s. Oh and playing with kids presents - Pictionary vs AI is a hoot!

Back to the normal routine this week:

Friday - Arsenal and pizza after work
Saturday - kids to my foks, then ju-jitsu, then I've got a big quarter-final to play*/manage
Sunday - kids rugby in the morning, afternoon plans

*Big game, considering benching myself - is this the beginning of the end?

All the party-kids hibernating? Who's broken Dry January? When do those on a monthly salary get paid, Friday 30th? Gear, beers and steers that weekend?

Who's broken Dry January?
I had never planned doing the whole month, but broke it last weekend. Flatmate came home with news of an expected promotion and she pulled at the heartstrings saying all her friends were doing Dry Jan. It worked. Couldn't let her celebrate on her own.

Tenerife in seven days to celebrate a 30th, my abstinence was always going out of the window the moment I hit that departure lounge anyway

No intention of doing dry Jan. Went out first weekend with family 1st weekend, son was ill last weekend so mothered him = no beer.

Fri - quiet

Sat - u8s football, quick dart to MIL the drop son and dog. Mrs and I doing go karting and then axe throwing 😬 spa hotel and meal with live singers in Chester. Hopefully there is some life in the city in January for a few drinks.

Sun - spa in morning then back to the lad 😊
