Weekend Plans

not really 'weekend plans', more of an internal mental observation.

it's opening weekend here, from tomorrow night until monday night there's plenty of big parties left, right and centre.
and you know what? for the first time in about 20 years, I could not possibly care less.

I did go to akasha last week to see sven and have a boogie, but with that, I'm satisfied again for quite a while I think.
I'll still go out every now and then, but now I think I can genuinely say my big party years are over. it's not only the fact I'm out hiking every day, I also am honestly not attracted to a lot of the nights right now.

I'll see you out hiking this summer - and if we're very lucky, we coincide somewhere on the dancefloor!

Fair one, I guess that mindset will come to us all one day but I’m certainly not ready to hang my boots up yet. I guess if I lived there I may feel differently too.

This weekend… IBIZA 💙💛 and taking a new girlfriend who’s never been which makes it even more exciting!

Tonight - midweek footy match. Top of the table clash. Must win.

Friday - Youngest is 10! Birthday cake in the morning. Flight to Dublin in the evening, with the missus and terrors in tow. Friday night, bit of dinner and hotel kip.

Saturday - off to the train station after breakfast. Arrive in Galway about midday and drop bags to hotel. Full day of exploring, possibly pop out to Salthill and then grab some dinner somewhere.

Sunday - not doing the half Connemarathon now as after tonight I will have played 3 football matches in 6 six days as well as footy training on Tuesday. I needed to do in less than 2 hours to make the train in time for our flight home and my body already aches all over. Instead. we'll have some nice breakfast and a leisurely stroll about, before heading back to Dublin for flight home.

I know what Stivi means. There's no point going to something, going through the motions, if it doesn't twist your melons. I went to a free St Jordi Day open air thing at a brewery here yesterday and there were DJs and stuff and it was shit and I was probably the 4th oldest there. No point clinging on to the wreckage. Unleash your endorphins in other ways I guess. Some people have kids, others do extreme sports. Everyone's different. I guess I'm at an age where I'm still working out how to fill the void as clubbing fades into memory. I still love music more than ever but the world's changed.

don't get me wrong guys, I still love clubbing - I just don't need it as much as previously. and this year I just don't get the hype about the openings. I'll still have a few good sessions over the summer, and probably more over the winter then too!
