Any chance on getting ā€œlostā€ on your way around the airport, ending up leaving and finding your way to Fabric? šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚

How can you have secret gigs these days if you are one of the biggest name DJs n the world?
Up until 5pm, they were doing pretty well keeping it quiet, then the local rag got hold of it, the original larger outdoor venue got policified, and the quickly arranged alternative wasnā€™t big enough.

Made worse by it being bang in the middle of town so east to get to, whereas the original required a bit more effort in the drizzle.

Nice idea, foiled by the execution and lack of Plan B

Drizzle in Brizzle.
Shame, really.

Dinner at a friend's place tonight, Friday nothing planned, hike Saturday morning if my ankle I twisted last Sunday while I was dancing like a teenager is ok šŸ™„, barbecue the afternoon to the South.
Sunday big villa party again, I planned to go to Las Dalias but I forgot we were invited at this party šŸ˜‚

friday - music on / destino closing (work)
saturday - a hike in the morning, followed by hosting a BBQ, followed by amnesia closing. my brother in law wants to see the chems so we'll have to go early (I for one would only go sunday morning tbh, but anyway...)
sunday - sleep at some point after amnesia, then eat a big dinner, then pacha's last dance of the season
monday - flying to palma early afternoon so sadly no way I can stay at pacha until the music stops...

oooft that's gonna be a hard one this weekend

10-15 yrs back, Fabric used to (probably still do) enforce strict exclusivity contracts, so famous djs would casually turn up at lowkey, word-of-mouth things the same weekend with no promo, billing or anything. I could name a few! Esp yanks or people who had travelled a long way and wanted a taster of illegal/warehouse parties which obv could not afford them

A lot has changed in 10-15 years.

Saturday could be a big day. Few lads meeting for a head wetting at 10am, going to another town so thinking of showing my face. Football at Turf 3pm, pub crawl with different lads after the game. Meet the Mrs at some point.

Friends holding a house and tech/house night in an old unit with a bar and loads of random circus/fairground stuff, 'abandoned circus' holds about 250 7pm u til 2am then an after party until 4am. Its a young crew of lads and lasses but should be a good crack.

HAPPY CLOSING WEEKEND EVERYONE! šŸ˜Ž

hahaha, I get it, but my life has certainly changed quite a bit compared to pre-covid.

this summer I was out about a dozen times in total, a number I'd usually get in a month or even lessā€¦but this weekend I actually might see some of you guys somewhere on a dancefloor!

I thought tonight was going to be a quiet one on the sofa but Iā€™ve just been informed by the wife we are out in Hertford for one of her staffā€™s birthday. A drink at the Wetherspoons šŸ‘Ž but we wonā€™t be staying as she isnā€™t keen on having a drink with her staff being their manager. And the possibility of them seeing her hammered. So, weā€™ll be going for dinner somewhere after a couple.
Saturday Iā€™m off to West Sutton which is an hour and a half away from us. Itā€™s a mateā€™s 50th. Weā€™re mates since the early 90s and I was his best man at his wedding. But over the years we lost touch until I tracked down his wife on FB. Really looking forward to it and staying at a local Premier Inn.
Sunday, drive home and recover.

Yeah, I remember after parties sometimes leaking who there secret guest was after another promoter had paid there airfare. Never went down well
