I just picked this one up. Haven't had a charcoal grill in years. It's delicious, just takes 10x longer than gas. Def want to get my heat control better and smoke a brisket and some ribs. Love to see your paella setup! We now use our Weber bbq for cooking paella. Works a treat.
Sounds really similar to what I have to do for a long bbq. How long does it take to cook paella? Few hours? If I can work out how to send a high def picture I’ll send them. All I do is fill half the Weber with charcoal. Then add a cake grill on top of Weber grill. So to not enclose the coals.
And use a 42cm paella pan.
It only takes 40 mins give or take. I use that can which you have in picture and get them white hot and also add a bag of lump wood charcoal ( the ones where you burn the bag) and that should be enough. First time round I didn’t know what to expect cooking time As a friend tried before and it took ages. But if you get the heat right you should have no problem.Sounds really similar to what I have to do for a long bbq. How long does it take to cook paella? Few hours?
Fyi - i had to download a file compressor to post anything to this site, there's a 300k limit on pics.
Sounds awesome! Heat control with charcoal is difficult for me. Just means I need to practice moreIt only takes 40 mins give or take. Was 5 peroni for £20 other week when I went. Seemed fair enough compared to the pint of piss for a 5er you usually get at places like that!Great weekend - been a while since we had an almost child-free weekend ?
Friday dropped the baby off, met a couple at an Italian for birthday meal then headed around town. Town is strange at the minute, we are meant to be in a stricter lockdown so it's no table no entry in most places. We booked 4 places, the friend I was with knows all the bar owners through work and we were fairly looked after. Ended up in the only club open, rough dive but we had fun - people dancing.
Saturday... Slept in until 12pm, yes dinner time???
Picked lad up, played for an hour whilst dropping him off at second sleepover.
Met 2 other couples in a village pub for a pre drink (topping up at this point tbh) then headed to our first/only festival of 2020 to watch Solardo in the grounds of a country estate.
Mini bus over highlights how times have changed, one of the girls on her first night out since having a new baby had to express a little on the way over. The tight security check caused a laugh when the pump came out!
The Gisburne Park pop up festival was brilliant, I was dubious beforehand but the setting was good, the music and volume was very good, we had a hexagon around 3mx3m with 6 chairs, little table and umbrella. Felt like you had a good space but there was good atmosphere, with everyone up and dancing. For a northern monkey £120 for a bottle of 70cl vodka was steep, no choice but to buy them though - had 3 between us ?
Finished at 10:30pm then had a kitchen party until 5am with a little more vodka. Great time, seen a few photos were you could incorrectly use the F. A. S. T assessment on me to identify a stroke ??
Agreed that's not too bad, I didnt look at the menu as you had to scan a bar code - group decided on vodka without looking at prices.
Just seen they are extending the festival through September. Which night did you go to @BenH
