Weekend Plans

Have a great time and maybe we'll run into each other :D

I'm just running round like a mad woman getting myself more and more excited 8O

You too - work levels have gone seriously down hill

Will keep my eyes open for a blonde/pink girly in a haze of poppers

I finished work on Friday which was a good job cos I was good for nothing

Just follow the poppers aroma and I'll be at the end of it  ;)

Friday: Fly to Nice, book into VERY snazzy hotel in Juan Les Pins, dump our cases and have a few drinks

Saturday: Chill around the pool, then get sorted for brother's HUGE wedding 8O , nod and smile at the new French inlaws for the rest of the day (unless i can manage to learn French before then). Probably end up quite ruined as the last event finishes at 4am.

Sunday: Off to Cannes for Sunbathing daytime then shoot down to St Tropez for meal, drinks and whatever else develops?

Monday: Drive to Paris for the night.

Tuesday: Fly to Ibiza

Wednesday: Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Chris arrives with his girlfriend on Sunday 17th. BBQ sounds good, can you PM me your mobile?

Yeah they said the plans didnt quite work out last time:lol: They got bored of Majorca so just hopped it to Ibiza...they were both completely funked though:p

Juan Les Pins

I was there earlier this year. Can't stand the place.

The prices make Ibiza look cheap (€11 for a ****ty small beer), the service is atrocious, and the locals hate tourists almost as much as they do in Amsterdam

Thursday - Fly to London

Friday - might attend Mark Sun's do in Clapham

Saturday - The End for Ivan Schmagge and Tim Sheridan

Sunday - Chelsea v Liverpool, then fly home (possible stop at Secret Sundaze in between, depending on time)

Indeed, your bro´s messages seemed suitably ´refreshed´

I take it you had a bad experience then

I've only driven through before - it looked extremely pleasant - maybe that was helped by the amount of naked ladies we saw laid on those platforms next to the yachts 8O

Not that i was looking of course

The hotel looks fab and has great reviews so who cares? We'll be in Antibes most of the wedding day anyhow drinking/eating for free 8)

We won't be bothering with Monaco though - what a $hithole!

Yeah, looks a bit negative reading it back.

Antibes is nicer (it's only a 10 minute walk away), and is lovely for a little nose and wander round town. Just playing "pick the boat" in the harbour is a great way to spend a sunny day. There a few market stalls with lovely antiques and bits too.

It's essentially a port town, and everyone there either owns a boat, or works one, so there's quite a thriving ex-pat community of boathands, which is cool. Le Pub (i think that was it's name) is cool if you need a friendly face to ask for anything (though not anything, it's certainly not that kind of place). As everything is made for tourists and wealthy people, I found ALL prices seemed to get raised purely because they could. There was certainly no great value in the prouducts or services. I wondered why people would bother with JLP/Antibes when you have the more obvious destinations of Cannes etc, so will be very interested to see what you though of those places.

Going back to JLP, the best nightclub was one which name ecapes me, though is styled like Wild West place. The Milk Bar is possible the ultimate epitomy of every thing I hate in a modern nightclub, though is seen as uber-cool by the odd-dressing locals. There's quite a few clothes shops too

Theres also a cool brazillian bar which does cocktails in assorted cups, (i.e. The coconut cocktail comes still in a coconut), and the three main types of restaurants are Seafood restaurants, Seafood resaurants, and Seafood restaurants.

Oh, and they charge you (20€) for sitting on the beach. Which, aside from the funnyness of it all, is a bit shocking, and rather summed up my time there.

Not sure if this is a bit too detailed for your brief visit, though if you only take one thing from it I hope it helps in some way.

Have a great time!

god all this ibiza talk makes me feel like going into a travel agent and getting the cheapest deal they have out there! Have loads of fun everyone thats going! :) 8)

Will do Dan i'm sure ;)

I've not spent as much time as you in Antibes by the sounds of it but have had a wander around and eaten in a few cafe's. The frontage/harbour is very nice, but the town itself isn't anything special i didn't think.

I thought Cannes was fantastic! We were there whilst it was the film festival, which probably added to the fun of it. Great people watching. While in the area, we also visited Moujin village which is utterly stunning!

Monaco was not my thing at all. Very dirty looking, difficult to traverse and basically boring. People rave aboput Casino square but i couldn't see why?!? Having said that, we did enjoy dining at Zebra - very pleasant.

St Tropez is gorgeous - reminded me of the best bits of Ibiza town. Lovely laid back atmosphere. Nice cobbled streets, with quaint bars & restaurants. I expected ST to be very bling and pretentious but was pleasantly surprised. Just a shame it's quite a long drive from the other destinations.

Last year we stayed in a friends Finca in Boulouris (near San Rafael) which is another pretty part of the world. It was nice taking the coast road from here to various destinations.

What i like about South Of France is that apart from being very beautiful (and despite being expensive) it's extremely civilised and very laid back. Perfect for a good chill pre-Ibiza madness.
