It is a long walk, especially if you start from the Ibiza end of PDB. The sand is not designed for trudging. You can walk over the far end, Coco Beach, as it's called which takes you to Es Cavallet, Ibiza's best known gay beach. Then you can walk along the back past the salt pans ('salinas' in Spanish/Catalan hence the name of the area) or along the beach. Either way, be warned that you may find some interesting flora and fauna (that's as in fauna-cation  ) And beware of the mozzies they can be wicked round there, especially at dusk.

That said, it's a beautiful walk, one I did myself a few weeks back. You get flamingos there through the winter. Really.
I never saw any of that "fauna-cation" you're talking about- does it happen early? Or maybe that wild bunny that cut me off was the lookout guy. Es Cavellet had some beautiful people in the buff, though. I was usually there later in the day; the first time at Sa trinxa I was expecting naked girls with champagne at 5PM, instead I got the Pacha girls :).

I found a taxi from PDB to Es Cavallet was nice; that cost around 8 euro but gets you there quick, and then after swimming at Cavallet I would walk on the beach to Chiringay, and then to Sa Trinxa, then to Salinas. It was a very gruelling walk - the sand is mostly on an angle and was quite hard to walk on. If you want, you can climb back up the cliff, but then you have to climb back down, and it does get very hot. I lost about 8 pounds from all the walking, despite eating like a pig at the hotel before I left. It was well worth it, though. Discovering the chiringuitos I had been coveting through pictures on the net was very exciting.

Defence Tower To Be Restored.
The historic defence tower in Playa den Bossa, known as the "Sal Rossa", is to be restored by the Consell Island Government. Once restored to its former splendour, the tower will be turned into a interpretation centre where visitors will be able to go & learn about the historic importance & uses of these defence towers which are found all around the island's coast. The tower & the land around it have been donated to the Consell Island Government by the Matutes family.

(the ibiza sun)

The tower pictured from a southerly/seaward positon, showing how disgracefull it looks. ;)

Unless it's happened more than once, I was on the beach with the missus and a handful of other Spotlighters when that photo shoot took place. Funniest thing ever.... my photos didn't capture the tower though
