Right, everyone hold your horses. Some people on here, secret bigots aside, are trying to have a rational conversation about this. And there's the rub - the starting point of this argument is so irrational there can be no logical conclusion. Whether some Muslim women wear veils because of their faith, whether men oppress them into doing so because of their faith, whether some members of Opus Dei practise self-harm as part of their faith - it makes no sense to try and understand it because those who believe don't. They just believe. Logic and rationale don't come into it.
You can't engage, in my opinion, because fantasy does not deal in knowledge or an undestanding that we do we not know. It deals in false knowledge and understanding.
