Vacation, Vacation, Vacation....Ch4 - 8pm tonight

Quite a decent little look at the island for a change!

I will be at Cala Nova may/june,very happy I won't be bumping into KA....

Ah right I thought it was a bit cheap to be that... I like it, thats where I want to go when I get married very nice! Has anyone here been there? didn't really think their review was the best and now we've had 3 different sides of Ibiza the 2 shown here the westend culture on Ibiza uncovered but never yet seen the kind of holiday I would do, I'd like to see that on TV :)

Not if your paying for your downloads... Ok first they went 'camping'(?) in Ibiza which involved staying in a wooden hut.... this was meant to be Ibiza on a shoestring and cost 55 euros a night self catering. They were cute huts very peaceful but I wouldn't really go there myself. They then went horeseriding which is something that i would never ever do.. but thats just me I wouldn't get on a horse after that awful incident 25 years ago on Porthcawl beach. When they did the more glamorous side they stayed in 'Atzaro' although I didn't hear them mention this not sure if they did but Don Simon was able to inform me. The rooms were gorgeous and would be perfect for a wedding or honeymoon. They went for a meal at the restaraunt and said the food was excellent but they didn't really show much of the bar etc which I was hoping to see. They also went on a boat to a secluded beach for a picnic. Personally I thought they could have showed more of Ibiza town for example.. it just seemed very short and a lot of time was spent bickering.

I was going to say,if you want to see about 20 mins of the quiet side of Ibiza (filmed last october)
then go for it. Good summary by hk there btw.

I think they were trying to promote the island out of season as a nice quiet relaxing break and to show its not all party orientated.

This programme didnt show me anything i didnt know already although for some who have a pre conceived opinion of Ibiza, it might make them think about going.

How the hell can Formentara bare any resemblance to a uk beach though ?????

I thought that considering they were trying to promote Ibiza to people who have never been, while showing a side other than partying, it was strange that they didn't go to Ibiza old town which is something that would draw in a lot of sight see-ers and many people have no idea that it even exists. I also agree with Crispy Duck , if there is a beach like that in Britain it is a better kept secret than Ibiza's hidden beach! I appreciated the line "I was born middle aged" though

I watched this, not as totally sh 1t as it could have been but it was never going to good was it. Phil was evidently a major pill head in his time and clearly loves the place (quid to anyone with a photo of him on a bora bora table). Did make me laugh tho when he said something like there is no elitism here - yeah through those mdma shaped glasses maybe mate!

It's all well and good saying it's done on a budget, but basically finishing every section with a quick 'and it doubles in price outside of mid october' is a bit of cheat - you could make the show 10 seconds long and have a parrott saying 'book in the off season'.

For a 25-30 minute show they did as best they could, always a bit of a push making something worthwhile watching in half an hour.....

I think people just need to wake up and see that every country has different sides to them, its just finding them and doing the research

Loved the luxury side of Ibiza though :D lush

Exactly what I said

Kind of annoying that they advertise it as doing it on the cheap but it was going in October! Did look nice and warm though just not quite a summer break as such is it.

Loved the suite Phil stayed in though, god I could stay there forever!

To be fair, if it was going to be truly on a budget it would have been a programme full of **** hostels in San Antonio.

I really enjoyed it, if only to see for Phil's obvious love for the island written all over his face.

You could tell that Ibiza was the Ying to his pinstripe-suited London Yang.

But I wish he could have put Kirsty in her place a little better when she tried to rubbish Ibiza.

She just didn't get it. At all.

I did actually like Kirsty before this programme, but now i just think shes....well a knob quite frankly.

I dont even think, from the off she was open to considering Ibiza in another light other than the 'clubbing capital' ...just made her look narrow minded

As for Phil, what a legend 8) his sex appeal just massively increased for me, seeing he is a blatent Ibiza raver ;)

Cheap deals in October (and May) are a plenty. I think they must have got a few nice days weather speaking.
