Which is closer to London? Chelmsford or Stafford? How long of a train ride are we talking about?

Does anyone think it's worth popping up to Day 1 in Chelmsford?
I'd prefer the other line up (Verve, Kravitzl Charlatans, Chemicals) but the Saturday one isn't half bad either.

Edit again: never mind. Figured it all out but found out there's not a ticket to be had for love or money. Next time!
