i just emailed my buddy whose was there... his review:

(it was) Pretty good. I got there late, like halfway through gui boratto's set. It was free before 7pm with wristband, I imagine it'll still be that way in august. Less crowded than other parties I've seen there (shm, luciano) but still a pretty good crowd. Sasha only came on around 10:15 and of course had to stop by 12 (I left a bit before then) but he played some realllllly good stuff. Some groovy tech house even. Main prob with ushuaia is their prices. Like 10 for a beer I think and 15 for cocktails! Gotta predrink ;-) - there's no in&outs either.

To be fair, Bora Bora (Wot ?!!) and KM5 (OK - I'll wear it) are both now charging 15E for a 'proper' sized red bull & vodka - it's getting pricey out there even before you hit the big clubs ! My big issue with Ushuaia drinks was the miserly size of what they doled out at the opening for astronomic sums and the really bad attitude/impossibly long wait at the bar (wrong drink, single shot (in Ibiza ?!!!!!), 18Euro, 25 minutes ...). Hopefully they've started changing all that as wristbands get given out and 40Euro prices are dropped to 25 online ...!!

Now that's a crowd having proper fun - still gutted I couldn't go.. if there was one thing out of the whole season I'd have picked ....

What are they like? Bully boys like the big clubs, or can you get away with a camera/or even camcorder?

Would love to bring memories back, which are a bit better than what a mobile phone has to offer!

Not talking pro DSLRs or own film crew, but pocket size cameras.

Being a hotel complex I guess they can only be so strict, or paying top dollar for a room gives you extra privelages!
