Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel for 2011

Sands, La Plage, Nassau, Delano, Sirocco, Cocos - CD launches and one-off parties left, right & centre without even leaving PDB ... not short of cool options for the early evening without ending up camped out in a ticket bar or ducking and diving at Bora Bora :?:.. :)

Guess if you want to see SHM can surely only be better at Ushuaia than at Pacha in a rugby scrum ?

:p:lol: Like all the above, trouble is I have been to ibiza for wait for it 9 years! So most of those places where are they as it's hard to find what's going on there, ie Pre Parties!

Any specific nights you know of between 23:08:11 - 30:08:11.

Thanks

Does anyone think that Ushuaia suck balls at promoting their events.

Like that propaganda night i have to search hell and high water to find out who even plays at the damn thing. I go on their website and they have half the nights missing from their calendar.

I have tickets to three nights there and if i was going by their calendar then all three are not even happening.

I know Ibiza is relaxed but are these people running a business?

Surely way too 'unexpected' to stoop to such regular things ?... often wondered whether the branding's uber-tongue-in-cheek ...

It's a sign of the times I reckon - live near a 'boutique beach hotel' in England where the likes of Rod Stewart & co show up now and again. The guests and staff are indistinguishable from each other and when you do finally make one out by catching them sneaking out of the kitchen, they look like startled rabbits in the headlights if you ask for a lunch menu 8O... surely they're not expected to actually serve or have a menu typed by 1pm as well as looking chic and glamorous (!)

Wait until you've been - all will no doubt become abundantly self-evident for you to form your own views..

lol good business hey? looks uber ****y to me.

I would love to support new ideas in Ibiza but when you put in that little effort to get your **** sorted i find it hard to put effort in backing your night.

Least Sankeys are trying.

Not hard at all to find out what's going on at these places and they're usually free entry, intimate events. Pretty much all you need to know is on the forum if you put a bit of work into it - see McRackin's threads :

Entry #8 for PDB is here with notes of regular parties and big club pre-parties :

Click on any of the venues highlighted in blue for a dedicated thread to what's on at that venue

Others updated on here – do your reading : http://www.spotlight-forums.com/showthread.php?t=70933&page=4

Dedicated boat parties thread here (it's not just Pukka-Up !): http://www.spotlight-forums.com/showthread.php?t=69127&page=7

.. and if you link to the facebook pages for the venues you're particularly interested in, you can usually see updates happening live too as well as getting invites. Keep an eye on Hotel Es Vive nearby to PDB in particular – have been some really good-looking one-offs there like Superfreq afterparty and Kubicle daytime party this year.

What's new / what's changed viz the venues and restaurants as compared previous years is all here : http://www.spotlight-forums.com/showthread.php?t=69127&page=7

Stuff is often announced at the last minute in smaller venues and surprise parties are common so check regularly in the week leading up to your departure and make a list.

Get online and check every morning for the night ahead when you're there too if serious about targeting every interesting night (bar the word-of-mouth ones :D). Spend some time one day going round and checking flyers at the venues in the area too – you never know what you might turn up. Try to listen to Ibiza Sonica / Ibiza Global Radio in the day - I've often done a big club or preparty night on the back of what's heard on the radio that day. Feel the vibe, meet and talk to music people.

If you're really in to new music and talent, check out Viva Bar in San Antonio one evening, take a look at their book and ask the guys and gals about their tips for hot new talent that's got theselves booked lately (better still sign up and play a set, or do one of their workers' parties for some proper fun ).

I've never been short of at least 5 possible parties to check out of an evening – and that's before even thinking about clubbing. 95% of it comes from Spotlight threads above and the man himself. And PS - my last 2 trips have been decided and booked either on the day of departure or the day before and could still get it together with a bit of effort - QED ? :p:p:p

Lol see they are still advertising the Propaganda night , did they even release that the night is canceled?

This is after they canceled the Ferrer night and replaced it with another night that got canceled lol.

I have tickets to the SHM dates in September which apparently are not happening anymore ( probably with no explanation) and the sasha closing party.

i have to say i went to SHM last night at ushuaia and it was amazing, packed, loads of vibe and hands in the air, it reminded me of space terrace 15 years ago except bigger and busier, lots of smiles on faces and planes going overhead.8)

:D I respect all views on Ushuaia everyone is a lil different, that's what makes the world go round. I hope my experience is the same as yours, I have SHM & Defected pre party booked already. 8)

I have a question for you Kimajy or anyone else, as things must have changed since my last trip over there. Ushuaia times are people using this as a beach party I.E arrive at lets say 5pm then staying until mm lets say 9/10, or a pre party arrive at 8:00 / 9:00 and stay until 12:00.?

Ushuaia 'party zone' has moved from where it was last year. It is now at a hotel opposite Space. 5000ish capacity place with huge stage and pool - look at the pictures on the thread. You have to pay to get in for daytime parties - and they are pool parties a bit like in Miami not beach parties. They start at 4pm or 5pm and finish at midnight. So you can go to a club afterwards via a bar somewhere.

Ushuaia also have a beach club at the hotel but this is not where the published parties are.

The other bars mentioned are on/near the beach and I mostly go for late afternoon to evening drinks before clubbing as pre-party when they have good music on. They are almost always free.

Did anyone attend the Sasha opening, would love to know how was the vibe.

Wasn't there for Sasha last year, which seemed to have a nice intimate atmosphere. The switch of venue seems to have taken that away, but I'm still hoping that it was better than some of the earlier reviews.

Dying to hear feedback on this too and still gutted I couldn't go see for myself - PLEEZE if anyone went, tell us how it was in as much detail as possible .. been really grappling with whether Sasha and his guests would be able to make this work and whether this could possibly have been the right venue for him to choose for Never Say Never.

Did Spotlight send anyone to rekky it ?

it was great!! steve bug started, good vibes, good size crowd......obviously big change in atmosphere from last year but still pulled it off.

we've got a video, photos and review coming soon.

What a relief - may have to try to get to one of them now .... Steve Bug really competent - saw him last w/end. Did you/anyone see Gui Borrato at Pete Tong's All Gone Brazil earlier in the year ? So nearly put my prejudices aside to go to that and probably should have in retrospect :?

Nice to see Sasha still dropping quality remixes of old classics :
