[UNVRS] Ibiza 2025

First time last night wasn’t really sure what to expect as I didn’t like Hi, but actually was really impressed. But I can see for sold out events how it could be uncomfortable.

Sasha / Digweed on usual top form and actually thought Carl & Loco Dice played well together, lots of cheering after breakdowns of songs etc - older crowd in and felt bit more of a party rather than usual zombies

Reminder: went to Anyma closing at UNVRS.

Did not like.

Got convinced to go back the following Sunday for Cox / Chemical Brothers, having access to all areas including F&F and the secret area (let's call it the flat) piqued our interest.

Short review:
Music - Cox spanked it, good. Chemical Brothers okay.
Crowd - better than Anyma, less Americans, less busy (including the dancefloor) - we could easily get on the steps from about 330/4 AM.
Production / visuals - worse than Anyma - that was technically mind-blowing
Cloud area, Dome: quite cool

Gutted we didn't stay for sunrise but the cab situation leaving there is an issue; not sure what the solution could be.

However, the fact remains, it didn't feel much like a club, more like a concert, as multiple people have observed. We have the same view of Drumsheds, which I'm not a fan of.

We were going to perhaps do Trilogy closing including UNVRS - but not sure now.

We may go if we get access as that provides a lot of pleasant areas for sitting where the aircon is stellar; is that a good reason to go to a club?

Maybe not.

I have spoken to various people over the last two weeks whom I consider 'experienced' clubbers and they all pretty much summed it up the same:

- a very well done refurbishment
- great sound and lights
- poor/flat atmosphere, even for nights like carl cox which usually have a fantastic vibe. (I mean you can like the guy or not, but he normally knows how to work the crowd and get an amazing atmospere going)

maybe it's because of its sheer size or the fact a lot of 'non-clubbers' are visiting, but truly lots of people have come back with this same comment lately, the vibe just isn't peak

correct me if im wrong but I think they simulate the sunrise with the led display around 530am if it isn't sunny enough by then?

At 5h30 in September the sky is still pitch-black so yeah definitely a fake sunrise with led display and by 6am everyone is living the club in the dark and you still have to wait 90min to see the real as it’s not before 7h30 at the moment
Very weird imo

Some of these comments just back my own decision (not to go) up. Had it been more 50-70 to go I’d have probably gone to check it out. But €95 ain’t it, getting it cheaper means booking much earlier and probably going in much earlier and therefore no spontaneity.

Hard for me to comment too much on this, as not been yet. I always tend to leave new venues alone for a year and a bit until the spectators that are just going to "look at it" have done the looking.

All I will say is that a big room like UNVRS (or say a Drumsheds in London as another example) are never going to have the character of a Pacha, DC10, Amnesia, Fabric, Watergate Etc Etc. They are designed to pack in 10,000 people to a room - that is their #1 aim.

We all moaned about over crowding in Ibiza clubs, well UNVRS was the answer to the capacity issue.

Having just come back from a trip, I think Pacha, DC, Amnesia had the best crowds /atmosphere / room to dance than they have had in years.

So thank you UNVRS.

Oh yes not complaining about that - went to Hi and it was relatively pleasant in terms of business.

just no good for your circadian rhythm that, Huberman would not approve.

Yeah absolutely agree with all that, 10,000 in there means a lot more space elsewhere.

Speaking of which, has anyone been to solid grooves this summer? Wondering what it’s like, never been.

Heading back to UNVRS tonight for Paradise (my friend is landing and its 1000% his vibe)
Will be interesting to see the crowd, as I think its the exact crowd I hate 🤣

Real shame amnesia lost this night, went two years ago and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Won’t be going to unvrs for it.

And of course Amnesia has lost a lot of nights, but Eastenderz has been one of the seasons successes! That might have not happened had Paradise still been at Amnesia.

Yeah has looked rather busy from what I’ve seen, listened to some of one of their sets on soundcloud last week but didn’t quite warm to it. Wasn’t terrible but didn’t love it either.

Amy idea of possible set times for cox with Sven on Sunday?

And any other spotlighters going?
