[UNVRS] Ibiza 2025

Yeah quite a bit of discussion on Dwayne Muffins instagram over this.

Call me cynical but the media on the island seem reluctant to comment on negative things in case those up high don’t like it?! Suppose they’ve gotta keep the paymasters happy.

Yeah I’ve seen it he knows it’ll get a reaction/clicks etc. Now I’ve met Dwayne and he’s alright but his taste in clubs and music is woeful, I think he only goes to the ones that’ll let him in for free. I’ve never seen him post from DC10 for example.

Swiped through the Anyma stories at UNVRS. That music is painful. It gets worse every year, how can he look himself in the mirror? What a long way from the days of ENTER or the Life and Death parties at DC10... But yeah, his bank account has also come a long way.
I just cannot understand this also.
Our tastes and likes will obviously change a little throughout life but this is drastic and woeful 🤔

Agreed about Anyma. It's getting to the point i'm past getting annoyed with the crowd for not dancing and just think of it now as a Visual show with music. Probably more suited to the Tate modern than an ibiza club. Just not sure i'd pay that much for a visual show, let alone the drink prices to go a long with it.

Having recently gone to the Tate Modern for the first time I can absolutely agree with that. It’s just some form of visual art.

Quite the contrast to TOU at circoloco

Ibiza is on its knees

understand the sentiment, but beg to differ. it's always very easy and at the same time very dangerous to just generalize.

not gonna explain anything new really, but the combo of: phones with fantastic quality cameras + social media and the apparent need 'we' have to share everything we experience + events that very much focus on spectacular visual effects (afterlife, prydz to name just two) is seriously challenging 'clubbing' the way us old farts have grown up with. the focus at some of those events is simply on the show, not on the dancing. but a) it's neither an ibiza-made thing nor is it exclusive to ibiza and b) you still find very cool parties here where the phones stay in the bags or pockets and people actually dance. anything at akasha, lots of stuff at pikes, the cocoon one-offs wherever they're done just to name a few. amnesia also often make a point in encouraging their guests to live in the moment rather than to be on their phones all night.

528 as well. Everyone dancing and having a great time, with next to no phones out.

When did it all change? End of 2017 TOU were stilling good music? Then 2018 onwards all changed?
Maybe but I don't think I really enjoyed anything they put out on Afterlife. Maybe the first year or so as you say, but they started playing what we now know as melodic techno probably 2017; completely different sound to their 2014 - 2015 sets.

They used to play really cool deep house, then all of a sudden it was big room emotive drops. Bit by bit it transitioned and what he's playing now sounds like peak Swedish House Mafia

Last March when we got off at Swindon Train Station after watching England v Brazil at Wembley he was walking out the station in front of us and had his car parked in the same car park

Then he was on our Flight out of Bristol Twice last Year heading to Ibiza and then in the Winter I went up to watch our eldest play football. He plays for Wootton Bassett. And Andy was stood there watching his Son who was on the other Team 😂

I had about 80 minutes to say something to him at the football club and I bottled it 😂

My Mrs kept saying go speak to him. I just couldn’t. We were also due to see him at a Kirk Field event in Bath last year but it got cancelled. I wanted him to sign an old Space Flyer from 2011

Last year was certainly a strange Andy Cato one 🙂

He’s just a normal guy. Yet because of the talent and aura. We fan girl 😂

Went to Holosphere tonight, first time since the opening. I went with 2 friends who hadn’t been to UNVRS yet this year - so did a bit of Tiffy tours at the beginning so they could get their bearings. Annoyingly, still can’t find this other room 🙃 however was able to get up to ‘the cloud’ which I hadn’t done before. Not sure if it’s a VIP zone on other nights or always open to everyone.

I would say it was a touch too quiet tonight. It’s great to have space to dance, however when there’s a little too much it feels gappy.

They’ve changed the set time so Prydz comes on at 2:30am now. Even though I’ve seen the show before, going there with different people who had never seen Holo or UNVRS at all made it a whole new experience.

Noticed lots of security presence on the dance floor. Bender in Wild Comet is a legend - if you’re going to Holosphere at any time this year, give him some of your time. Such a vibe.
