[UNVRS] Ibiza 2025

What are you talking about? You have the main room, wild comet and the bunker. Everybody can visit them. Plus you have a invite only/artist room next to the bunker, that’s private yes.

I'm very impressed by TNL's staff. They do a great job of changing the presentation of all of these venues each day, for 5-6 months straight in some cases. Unvrs, Hi, Ushuaia...these places are spotless and prepared each night. Privilege definitely didn't have that feel towards the end!

How professional TNL are has never been in doubt to be honest. And doing this across 3 venues is nothing short of remarkable.

I finally made it to unvrs last weekend, I'll try to be as objective as possible with my review.

generally talking about the venue I have to say, credit where credit is due, the refurb has been done very well and the result is genuinely impressive. everything looks very neat and stylish - something I never thought of hï, from day one I thought the theatre looked tacky AF, the club room soulless and I didn't like the gimmick like the outside tepees either. so, well done on that. also that they kept the big outdoor 'bowl' and paid homage to what the venue used to be previously.

we weren't in the main room for too long (because I didn't get boris brechja at all). the lights look good (but it's not something that's ever been very important to me) and the sound system is decent as well - but some people calling it 'the best sound system they've ever heard' either haven't been to berghain's main room (or some other club with a really good sound system) or they simply are on TNLs payroll to say such a thing. it simply sounds as good as it SHOULD sound in a club of such a calibre - another thing I never thought of hï - but I really don't hink it's oustanding. IMO pacha still wins that one right now here on the island.

the bunker is fun as is the wild comet, with the negative point that it was bloody hot in there - not sure if this is a regular thing or if any of the aircons didn't work that night. but then again, if the bogs is the highlight of your club, you've got the priorities wrong IMO, something I've also voiced in the past. but that's the old grumpy clubber in me I know ;)

maybe it was us, but we just didn't get the main room energy on sunday night - so we left shortly after coxy started and went back to amnesia to see villalobos (who I thought was on very good form).

I'm certainly gonna go back to unvrs at some point to spend a full night (or at least a bigger chunk of it) in the big room. it's evident that this venue will be the future benchmark here on the island and I can't help but think hï might really be the loser in that game in a way in the long haul.

Good honest review that l’ve been waiting for. I will visit in September to see as looks very impressive in terms of the refurb, compared to the last legs of privilege. I have heard others of our similar age, state the Bunker & WC, are more up our street but as you say paying the price, well for me as you’ve got pass, to spend more time in those rooms makes me think. I agree and have said it before, Pacha for me, has THE sound system, liquid gold with the right record. Hi, while l have been on many occasions as lover of G’box since its space terrace days, never felt homely to me as a good club should do. The club room was like walking in to garage that got extended! In fairness, l have seen Derek Carter destroy the place in the past..
Like you, you went home to amnesia to finish your night. Glad you got a night out during peak..Ps.. Your better half going to see Romy play Homobloc on the 14th? Luke puts on a great party 😉

I can't help but think hï might really be the loser in that game in a way in the long haul.

I have not been yet, but most people seem positive on it, apart from some of the usual suspects.

As you say above, I struggle how Hï fits into it all long term. UNVRS, Pacha, DC10, Ushuaïa, Amnesia and even Chinois have something Ibiza and authentic. Does Hï?

On a slightly related topic, do we know how Ushuaïa is doing this season? I kind of (maybe wrongly) assumed that that would suffer a bit, but seems not? People still love the daytime?

Absolutely agree... on almost everything!! Of the three most famous clubs, the one most at risk is definitely Hï!! And maybe I repeat, maybe in the long run, in the battle between UNVRS and Ushuaïa, it could actually be the newer one that ends up losing!! Unfortunately, I just can’t deal with the crowd that goes to UNVRS, so I don’t think I’ll be going

I know it sounds mad, but l did mention it before.. As they slowly turn the Bossa in to the TNL playground, could it be a case that Hi slowly merges in to a Lio style venue? Or are they happy to leave as the quick fix Ushuaia after party..

Now I’ve sobered up a bit I’ll share my thoughts on UNVRS 😂 I visited twice, once for the Carl Cox opening party on Sunday, then the next day for Eric Prydz Holosphere. Two very different nights in many ways.

As mentioned previously on this thread, the Carl Cox night was too busy. Felt dangerous in the main room at many points. That big entry staircase seems a really bad idea to me, because everyone stands on it to get a better view or whatever. When we arrived around 23:30 however it was quiet, so we went to the garden for a drink and to assemble us all as some of the group were arriving later. It was great as we got a table which we managed to hang on to for a couple of hours. We’d also bought and split drinks packages between us which seemed the better way to do things. I went for a wander via the mirrored tunnel to the bunker which I loved. If you squeezed yourself through the mass of people at the back of the room then there was plenty of space to dance. Went back to see if any of my friends were left in the garden but they’d gone. Grabbed a drink and before I knew it had started making new friends, so this to me meant the Carl Cox crowd was good. I decided to feel brave during Maceo Plex and pushed my way towards the front where it was just overly busy for me. Saw one of my friends there but I couldn’t handle being squished and having my toes almost broken by women in stiletto heels (I mean really?!?!) so I went all the way back to the side of the main staircase where I found my other friends. There was a little pocket of space to dance right by wild comet which is where we stayed for Carl Cox. Absolutely loved it! Couldn’t see anything that was going on up the front but who cared? The tunes were banging and the sound system in there is one of the best I’ve heard.

Night 2 - Eric Prydz. I was flying solo for this one, I really should have gone to pikes with my friends but this would probably be the one time I’d get to see the show so went along anyway. Didn’t bother with a drinks package as I was never going to drink enough to make it worth it. It was a lot less busy so explored more and found the rest of the toilets, went in to the dome and wild comet. The toilets in wild comet were possibly the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Managed to get up the front for the start of Prydz and the show is pretty breathtaking! But the crowd were strange, almost like they had free tickets from somewhere and were there for the sake of it. Whistling really loudly in my ear? No thanks. Saw the main bits of the show and moved towards the back where there was plenty of space and people seemed to be getting in to it a bit more. I left around 4:15am.

Overall what I’ve taken from my 2 nights there is I like the club. There’s plenty to see and I like the garden areas, but I think it has to be taken as an experience more than anything else. Yes it’s expensive, bits of it are pretentious but on the whole very good. I treated it almost like a concert as that’s what it essentially is in the main room.

Would I go again? Yes depending on who was playing, but I don’t have a burning desire to go to the Carl Cox closing party when I’m back in September.
Thanks for review, great insight. I'm still debating UNRVS I might do Elrow on 20th and instead of Cox 21st head to Amensia for Pyramid.
Still bucket list, but maybe a next year thing, all depends on reviews.
