UK Clubs closing at an alarming rate

agreed.
I’ve only been twice, both this year; they do some great events there. Was just highlighting the small crowd on that particular night for a “club” event.
Great sound in there too, did you find that?
Yes, we liked it as a venue. Not sure how it fares in bad weather as the outside was pretty full as well. Good range of ages when went.

It might have been a health and safety hazard held together by gaffer tape, but the Corsica Studios was by far the greatest club I ever went to. The music, the crowd, the mischief behind the scenes, a total trip that brought together so many weird and wonderful people. Was a family above all else. This is a lovely tribute by many of the people involved over the last 25 years. London is all the poorer for its loss.

Yep. May well have been the first place I met anyone off Spotlight too. Was in a k-hole leaning against a speaker and someone called 'Erin' who was the girlfriend of someone on here somehow recognised me. It's weird the things you have absolutely no right to remember.

The best. Nowhere else came close to Corsica Studios outside of Glasgow and Ibiza, in my opinion.

Wonderful memories of I Love Acid, Andrew Weatherall (nervously) handing out free CDs by the cloakroom at ALFOS, and accidentally walking into what I thought was Room 3, only to discover a completely different venue full of South American people samba dancing, who all stopped and turned to look at me in abject horror as I staggered about, confused, clutching a bottle of water, whilst attempting to find Move D, DMX Krew, or someone like that. Happy days!

Is it not re-opening in a few months though, rather than closing completely?

Haha, yes that salsa place next door 😂

I think that is it sadly. Pretty much the last link to my London party days. Never did find out who stole the mysterious Dickie Davies poster.

Will hopef pop in to Tryouts next time i’m over

*EDIT* i think you're right Clara. looks like a new version will emerge from the ashes but doubtless all cleaned up and more controlled
