really enjoyed the programme - have to say it wasnt really a programme about the dangers of drugs, which I was half expecting, more of an adult view on the situation of recreational drug use...... interesting to see what tonight's programme shows....

I too found it interesting and the BBC had done well to get so close to the action. Last nights programme in the main dealt with Coke - the dealers and the consumers who were all quite pathetic I thought, but then perhaps I would think that as I am quite anti Coke. It was interesting to learn about the business side and the relitive profit that each dealer was making also amazing to see how the whole thing seemed to be based on good customer service - 24 hour call out and free delivery a service to rival Domino's Pizza 8O
It was interesting that they said a lot of people have got into Coke through the house music scene where they start with Pills and move on to coke.
I have a few friends that I socialise with that like a line or 2 but they tell me that Coke is certainly not the drug for dancing? In Ibiza it was something they did the day after clubbing, round the pool with a bottle of Cava :? Also whenever I have been clubbing and had to wait in the toilet que behind all those desperate for a line rather than a sh*t (very annoying) I have observed them mostly to be the playboy types who are not really clubbers just at the venue because its a cool place to be

I of course wated to see more on pills but I believe each program is covering a certain drug(s) and it will be the Ibiza one which goes into Pills. The one tonight filmed in and around Manchester is covering Crack and Heroin.
There was one dealer on there who seemed to suggest that there was good money to be made on dealing pills which seems to contradict the whole "dance music is dead beacuse there's no money in dealing pills" argument that I seem to hear all the time

What do you think :?:

Coke is imo a clubbers drug - maybe its an age thing but most clubbers I know in my age group prefer a club night on coke than pills - recovery time i think..... personal choice mate at the end of the day..... ;)

Interesting....explain the age thing for me as I'm interested. Given, that few 18yr old clubbers have the cash of say a 30 something clubber to buy Coke with but apart from that is there another thing?

30 - 49 year olds for my group of friends, who are the clubbers from way back in the day. They are now with partners, jobs, children etc, and they prefer to not dabble in ecstacy anymore as the recover time impacts their day to day life..... that's their reasoning behind it...... as I say, its a personal choice. For these guys a night on coke doesnt debilitate them as much as other "clubbing" drugs would.....

I'd say age is relevant to this debate. As people get older they tend to leave behind the pills and just ruin their nose instead. It's pretty obvious tho that E is still the drug of choice for most 'clubbers', the ones that are still prepared to spend the next 24 hours hanging out of their arses for the sake of an excellent night.

I see........Well I have 2 out of the 3 (no Children yet) I guess I must be lucky to not get side effects to badly? All drugs have a comedown though and an effect on the body both short and long term, I just don't see Coke as being the better of the 2 evils but anyone could argue (quite rightly) that I can't comment on the matter as I've never tried Coke.

Are the effects of Coke and ecstacy so similar that it is one or other for clubbing :o From my observation of my friends while we were away, the resulting behaviour from taking one or the other was a marked difference between the 2. Accepted both give the user a good feeeling but that is where the similarity seemed to end?

programme was a complete joke, favourite quote:

"the dealers nick-name is 'mitsu' - short for mitsubishi, a brand of ecstacy that is in no way associated with the japanese car brand"

really??!!

.... some might say they get a clarity and a sharpness in perception of events with Coke - which some people may not get from ecstacy, then again, some people's perception of events on coke can also be classed as f**ed up paranoia too.........
:?
........... horses for courses.....

expierienced this first hand new years day. Was havin brill time had my little smileys new years eve and stuck to drink new years day. two of our friends had been doin coke the night before and that day too. one accused us of stealin some! deadly serious. thought the pile had got smaller. he continued to believe this till next day wen he was v v embarrased and apologetic. he's v nice guy an was v out of character. seems he changed in the space of a few hours worth of lines. only ever done it once and a small amount. this has put me off. that and the 50 quid price tag. ;) :)

Had coke for the first time on New Years day, after being on the little ones the night before. Have to say it didnt do that much, but given the state I was in the whole week before, its probably not surprising.

Whats the main difference then?

that programme last night was serious rubbish

shock horror, cocaine is avaiable to buy in london.8O

my nye experience also involved having to have seriously boring conversaitons with various coked up scary's.

like anything. treat with extreme respect.

i like the odd little charles like the best of um but, too much makes you sooooooooooooooooooooo boring.

not totally expierienced to say but..... was drunk and high wen i had a teeny bit so it jus woke me up a bit. from seein others on it i'd say a reasnable amount of coke makes u feel great but also makes u arrogant. also it seems like u always need more as effects arn't as long lasting as pills. this is crap as its so so expensive for a tiny bit. think the main difference is that on coke u love yourself, on a pill u love every bugger else!

i watched the manchester one last night, and i didn't like that one at all - did they really have to show that bloke injecting himself.

Those Manchester smack/crackheads were pure comedy

When that lad lost the gear he was trying to sell and then ended up doing a load more himself of what he was meant to be selling because he couldnt handle the situation   Then the bloke who laid it to him saying how he'd kick the shit of out him etc 8O

Aaaahhhh i love watching people like that and laughing at them :D
