lustral sounds very very dated to my ears. I kinda liked it at the time but it doesn't half sound formulaic now. not much 90s prog does still stand up for me, which is ironic seeing as it all sounded so futuristic when leftfield and guerrilla records started out

there's loads of more mid-tempo, often vocally tracks coming out at the moment seth troxler, art department, soul clap, nicolas jaar that kind of thing - feature on it in last week's London Time Out - not sure if the music has sufficient identity of its own to really call it a new scene as they are claiming, but am certainly hearing these kinds of tunes out a lot more - labels like wolf & lamb, crosstown rebels etc

this track from Deniz Kurtel is a good example

Olly , apologies but after reading some of your posts in this thread you come across as a bit of a breast.

'each to their own'

yeah, well interesting, on a public forum

isn't it more interesting having opinions on things rather than us all all nodding along like lemmings going 'yeah, wicked tune' about something which is unmistakeably fcking generic bull$hit

"oh no X on the internet was rude about my taste in music, I'm telling mummy".

per-lease

and I stand by what I said about defected and disco. I wasn't bragging, what I said is just plain fact. your hed kandis etc are money machines jumping on bandwagons - until the 'next big thing' comes along. Now Time Out like I said in previous post are trying to create some new scene, with the cash-in merchants inevitably not that far behind. It's boring and it's predictable. Surely people on here have the intelligence to see how the machine works - over and over and over again

sorry I annoyed you Dirk

yours much love

Your point was holding my interest until 'Time Out like I said in previous post are trying to create some new scene' What pretentious nonsense.

How can you decide that a whole label or genre is rubbish, is it because that particular 'brand' doesnt fit with what you think is cool at the moment? I like what I like and prefer not to get caught up in the 'this is the cool genre/label to be into' culture that has sadly crept into house music over the last 20 years (look at the whole minimal thing over the last few years, exactly like Lemmings and now this whole Nu Disco thing.........please)

What ever happened to the old Balearic spirit of liking good music and not trying to pigeon hole everything into whats cool or not. A lot of rubbish in my opinion.

Dirk x
