Top 3 Songs of 06 (non dance)

I can see what you mean, you have to take it for what it is really and you either like it or you dont. I mean none of it is amazing lyrics, but it makes you smile sometimes as its all lighthearted.

Prefer the Kooks, dont dislike one song on that album.

think I must purchase!!! :)

Definitely get the Kooks if you like the ones you have heard of these. I bought it back before Naive got really big. The rest on there are great.

Lily Allen - not everyones taste - but I like it :)

i could only think of one song which i would put on my list and it was also Kooks - Naive.

This song has been jaded somewhat when i got "stuck" face down in a shower with this song on repeat in my earphones on my first night in Ibiza this year.

I couldn't find my ears and take the phones out. Hierbas and party extras claimed a major casualty that night.

I did toy with the idea of gettin it after i heard smile...then talked myself out of it.....one album I did buy which I recommend is "garden of happiness" by Grandad Bob!! it's lovely!!!

Whoops :)

See I didnt really like Lily Allen Smile, it kind of grew on me. I like some of the others though, I just think they are cheery songs.
But some of them are a bit silly - punching girls, getting in fights things like that, but about 7 out of 10 are good.

One about her brother is good, as I said before not amazing but puts a smile on your face.

And I dont really like "chavvy" music.

ps: the reason for getting stuck isn't because I am michelle-manus-a-like, i just briefly lost the will to live.:p

tough call choosing 3 but i'd say
1. Kasabian- empire
2. Frattellis- chelsea dagger
3. Crazy- gnarls barkley-now i've not heard it for a while
with a mention going to the scissor sisters i don't feel like dancing and the kooks naive!

I was never too keen on The Feeling but they were so good live at V Festival it totally changed my opinion of them - am now a fan!

I'm surprised it took people so long to mention Gnarls Barkley. Easily one of the freshest and most interesting albums I've heard this year.

I'm not sure which song I'd choose, though. Crazy or their solid cover of the Violent Femmes' Gone Daddy Done.

At Last...thank you!!! :)

Danx, normally you are pretty "on balls" when it comes to music, however this time.....I think youre wrong!!!

Woah ah oooah ah woah.

I know Trance songs with better written lyrics (AND it was written by the drummer, causing a punch up as Borrel and the record co wanted JB's name on it)

Ah ha! I saw that blind piece in Holy Moly (or was it Popbitch? :?) and thought for sure it was that song. Apparently the last tune recorded for the album because the twit of a singer refused to perform until he got his name on it.

Not impressed by the tune at all. The missus loves it, though.

Yeah, it's my second worst RL lyric after

I met a girl/
She asked me my name/
I told her what it was.

(from Somewhere else).

Shakespeare has nothing on these lot!

But as I said, they do make amazing guitar music (IMO, though that's coming from an old funky house veteran).
