Top 3 Songs of 06 (non dance)

The whole album was not bad

The Cicada mix is simply awwesome. If it had a re-edit that lengthened it out and sorted the intro, it's be as good if not better than as JLC's mix of Mr Brightside.

That Razorlight song, and the whole album, is awful, and that's coming from Up All night's biggest fan.

My top 3 would be...

Editors - Munich
Madonna - Get Together (assuming we're counting Hung Up for 2005)
Kanye West - Gold Digga (is that 2005 also?!)

Always wanted to know how did the Mr Brightside so thanks, I loved the Mylo version of Somebody Told Me I have it on the album

I kind of have to agree, I loved Razorlight when I saw them live at V and I was not a big fan before so bought the new album and was slightly disappointed the only one I really like is In the Morning. Not keen on America, way too overplayed on Radio One - I guess that is the disadvantage of having a radio on all day!

Might have to check out the old album instead!

it's a good album with "rip it up" as the stand out track....eh dan? ;)

Sorry, nope? You've lost me? I think you're being a bit too cryptic for a Monday morning!

If you're going to copy Buckers' style...

"up all night"...the razorlight album you were talking about earlier has a track on it called "rip it up"......which IMO is the best one... eh dan?

Well actually I always thought (what I think was) the 8-9-10 trio of Dalston, Golden touch and Stumble and Fall were the master pieces, though I rarely listened to the album, and with the special edition with Somewhere Else as a bonus track, then that could be mentioned in the same breath as those classics. I'd probably add Vice to that list after hearing it live!

Rip it up was ok, and they used it to start all their performances (rightly so) though quite unremarkable as an album track. My apologies, I thought you were trying to refer to, erm, something else (though not the track something else!..) as you were...

need to dig this album out and give it a few listens again, unfortunately "somewhere else" isn't on it, "stumble & fall" yeah, 4got about that one good track too!!!

Munich was 2005.

This year has been quite poor for decent new songs, Snow Patrol with Martha Wainwright is a good song. Muse have got a few good uns on their album. Take A Bow or Knights Of Cydonia are both fantastic songs.

The best is yet to come though - the X Factor single will be out soon... 8);)

Agreed (all apart from the Lily Allen comment) best new band of recent memory.

Lily is an aquired taste that I don't appear to have aquired. A friend of mine seems to think she is a poetic genius, and I can sorta see where she's coming from in an urban appealing to the youth way... I personally see it as crap lyrics. Each to their own tho hey?

I can see what you mean, you have to take it for what it is really and you either like it or you dont. I mean none of it is amazing lyrics, but it makes you smile sometimes as its all lighthearted.

Prefer the Kooks, dont dislike one song on that album.
