TIESTO DJING NOW FOR THE OLYMPIC OPENING CEREMONY!

this thread is going in two different forums! is everyone on the spotlight watching the Olympics?

How about that Bjork after the Greeks filed in? Good stuff.

And how long is the IOC chairman going to babble? What's worse, I'm watching it with a Russian voiceover!

well, i loved his set. of course it was a very tiësto-ish set...but i hadn't expected anything else...

i won't be able to go back to ibiza again this year, but at least i'll catch tiësto here in zurich on 4th september and paul van dyk one week later!

..and...maybe i'll go to see "tiesto in concert" in arnhem on october 30th. if you've seen the dvd of the first edition of tiësto in concert, then maybe you can understand why i want to go there...

I heard part of his set in St. Petersburg last month as I was waiting for a ferry to another arena where Fontaine and Emerson were playing. Wasn't super impressed. However, I saw him in Moscow last year and thought it was good. It all depends on your mood, I think (I'm not a big trancehead anyway)

god u guys dont know how lucky you are, when it gets REALLY mad here in DK we have maybe 1 internatioan DJ a month and thats everything from Felix Da Housecat to the likes of PVD and co....but that was a LONG time ago, sadly....

He was asked to do the Olympics after the artistic director saw the Tiesto in Concert DVD!

BTW: He was asked to play his tracks by the organization. Probably he also had to stick to non-vocal stuff.

probably, otherwise it would have interfered with the loudspeaker announcements by the chick who kept screaming the names of the countries, bloody annoying IMO! 8O

ummm.. have the parade of the athletes and not mention the country names?!?
come on!! he was paid to be background music!

yeah.. i love loud music as much as anyone!! but at the opening Olympic ceremonies?! you still need the commentators. I'd say the 2 or 3 billion people or however many watch are more interested in the athletes than Tiesto!!

LOL. tiesto isn't his real name, just the name he goes under when djing.
his real name is Tijs Verwest. and that sounds 100% dutch! ;)

yeah and apparently he´s related to a cabdriver that told me all about him when he drove meto the airport in April, whilst in amsterdam
