Ha! - Yes, I went there! - I doubt this thread will exceed a page, mind.

Obviously we would all sell our right Breast/Testicle * Delete as applicable*

To be in Ibiza right now, .. and it is an Isle of sheer.... freaking awesome-ness

But, surely - there must be some things about the Island we dont like?:spank: .. No?

Well, Ill start

The Pavements...

You know the ones, Red in colour with square patterns on them, that are slightly rasied causing you to stub your toe whilst wearing flip flops:oops:

Also

Lamposts - Is it just me, or are they all in the MIDDLE of the pavement? - bloody hard going with a pushchair. or.. if your like me and dont look where your going, .... SMACK!

But most of all, ....

Location

The fact its a 2hour flight away :(:(:(:(

Pretty sure we had a similar thread last year.

Lookie Lookie men and women, and overly pushy PRs are my only annoyances with the Island.

I dont mind the lookie lookie men, I mean - We all know what they are going to do, and so long as they are not overtly forceful, they have never really been a problem for me.

I think they are quite funny, and am impressed by some of the banter they come out with (Nugget aside)

It's more the women I have an issue with, invading my personal space to try and put something on my arm without invitation. Always have a huge go at them every year.

Most new laws since 2007 (in a touristy / clubby way)

The rise of VIP culture on the island (that isnt actually vip just people buying into the idea)

reluctance to give out taxi licenses (may be wrong but it seems evident theres not enough??)

the fact i didnt go nearer to yr 2000

all of these plus no left luggage in the airport.... :spank::spank:

Looky Looky men are polite enough as long as you're polite when you decline.

100% main one would be overly pushy PR people, if I say no thank you then don't stand in front of me and try to stop me.

The lack of ways home if there are air strikes (or ash clouds) :?

On the mainland there is always the option of a train or coach, long time to get to the UK but at least you're on the move, but on Ibiza it's a good sail to Valencia or even gooder sail to Barcelona, by the time you get there the strikes might be over!

Anyway, in 15 years that hasn't happened to me yet, but laws of averages and all that
Let's hope Jet2 stay solvent and don't become Jet2nowhere

I can't stand the PR's reluctance to accept NO when walking through the west end or PDB, really winds me up. Also the looky looky's trying to sell you crap, my new tactic this year was asking how much they will give me for my sunglasses and they would leave me alone instantly. The worst thing is they are trying to take as much money back to Africa as they can so the local economy will lose out of money that folk could of spent in the shops for the same stuff. Every year there seems to be less though so eventually they might be none one day.
The sunset strip, I hate how it has gone from what it was to what it is, Mambo being the worst of the place. I sat at a table in Mint to while waiting for mates and figured I would have a beer while I waited and they wanted 10 euros! Luckily my mates turned up early so I got up to say hello and the girl went mental at me... "thanks for using our chairs and not paying us anything for it" .....I sat down for about 60 seconds stupid bitch!
Taxi's are too expensive and never enough at peak times.
Buses don't run to all of the places I want to frequent and it can be a pain to get anywhere without getting 3 buses for a 10km journey hence the expensive taxi's taking advantage.
Brits on tour type gangs of holiday makers on the island, make me cringe :)
Time always seems to go fast and no amount of time feels long enough.
The fact I can't just upsticks and go to live there :(

Amen

Thought there were more looky looky men this year actually. It's funny, I've been going to Ibiza long enough now to recognise some of the shop keepers and looky men, haha.

When I went to Ibiza at 18, a friend I was with, started becoming... ahem "amorous" shall we say on the beach with a girl he met....

They looked up to see a looky looky man pilfering through her bag, when he asked him, what the hell he was doing, the looky looky man asked to join in!!

....

I may try the "how much for my sunglasses" trick though...

ANother one, - The scary african looking hookers in San An. - I was worse for wear, and looking for my mates, and was grabbed by one saying "sucky sucky" I would have obliged, but she looked like Sideshow bob from Africa

taxi fares in ibiza compare favourably with your home town

I didn't intend to 'knock' them as such, i can get anywhere in notts on a bus rather quickly these days. For such a small island Ibiza does not make it easy to get around without a car or a cab. The cost of the cab is expensive and I moan about local cabs to but then buses are cheap and regular here :)

This is the big one for me. If you're not there for a genuine 'clubbing experience' you can actually remember or for the beauty and culture of the island, ship out and go to Benidorm... it's cheaper. I'm increasingly becoming a snob.

The groups with the matching T shirts with nick name, and IBIZA 2012 underneath, not good! One thing that annoys me is the difference in price for drinks going a couple of streets further back from the bars on the harbour in Ibiza town, yes you pay to sit and look and some boats with the beautiful people but also traffic going up and down the street.

Things I don't like-
Ridiculous alcohol prices.
Thieving scum bags who try and dip your pockets in clubs, steal your stuff at the beach etc.
Fake VIP culture.
Pop tarts like guetta and the swedes ripping off their own fans.
Dodgy drugs.

Yep. They're the ones.

I think having reluctantly partaken in it myself at one stage, I'm psychological scarred by it. In 2009 I hoped that by putting up with (and even embracing) the loutish side, I could sneak in some of the more 'cultured' side. I now realise that the two are hardly compatible and the former is just not me.

You wouldn't catch me in one of those t-shirts now. Way to kill your individuality.

Not all PRs are bad, I often get told I'm the nicest in the West End, but at the end of the day I'd probably make more money if I was pushy!

My main issues:

Prostitutes accosting drunken young lads
The West End and the people it attracts
People who come but only want to listen to Rnb or Hip Hop - Just don't get it!
The fact my favourite deli has put their prices up and my second favourite has shut down
The ryanair staff in the airport insisting on making me squeeze my hand luggage into that stupid metal frame to check the size of it

On a more positive note :) my new favourite thing, driving a massive boat past mambos for the sunset :)
