The 'L' Word

Yup i do mean the word that can mean so much and then so little - LOVE...

My BF did the classic on Saturday night, alot of drunken bbm messages and ended one with the L word in it...

Low and behold the next morning he had no clue, so as you can imagine i had great pleasure in informing him of what he said

He was NOT impressed at all and keeps saying 'im taking it back, i was drunk and ive never said it first to anyone before, its also far too soon to be saying it'

But when is too soon to be saying it

A question totally unique to everyone of us imo.

After seeing my now wifey a few times I knew I was head over heels but could not understand how or why it could happen so quickly and kept telling myself I had gone nuts!

Initial intuition must have been correct, we have been together 17 years and married 13 :D

Sounds like you have got your chap hook line and sinker:D Can we hear spotlight /pof wedding bells???

gl, and tell him to stop pretending to be such a tough guy, what the hell does it matter who says it first:spank:

well me and Mr PL hated each other for 2 years - finally got together and I knew he was the one after date No 1 - I told him I loved him as he was going off back packing after Uni and thought in for a penny.... he's going off and might never come back therefore the  factor can be avoided....

.......he came back after 2 weeks after he realised he was walking around thinking about me constantly and turning down women :lol::lol:

That was 1991....

Do yes its unique to different people when its right to say it - but IMO - you just know!

Love can be said and felt in any situation - it's also a transient state and can't be used to define anything...because emotions naturally flow and change.

It's all about a shared alchemy which can be felt after five minutes or five years.

Applying logic or meaning to it is a fruitless exercise - as is strategic game playing.

It's also not something you learn about with experience because it's an out of control, childlike state with highs and lows in equal measure.

In short - goferit without expectation and embrace the chaos. None of this, "too soon" bull$hit.

Are you and I the same person?

I agree with Robder, I have feel in love very quickly and I've had love grove over time. I have friends that I love to bits right away and some who it took a while. You know when your in love you feel it in your heart no matter how much time has past. On the flip side it is a thin line between love and hate.

Yea thats one of the old reliables to trot out :) I'v used that one on a few occasions myself. Works every time:)

I love everyone when I'm drunk. ;)

+1 Now that statement is closer to the bone

One of my golden rules in Life is NEVER to interfere in another couples relationship. Only the couple can work personal stuff out between themselves as chemistry and engineering is unique for every relationship.

How the both of you handle this important issue will determine your relationship going forward. Its a delicate situation so handle with care.

I told my lady I love her for the first time on Saturday night when I was hammerd ha ha. She knew it was probably because of the beer though and we haven't mentioned it since. Been going out for 4 months now and she's pretty sound so might drop it again when I'm sober in a few days before I head off to Ibiza as a little parting gift

That is so sweet!!

When Mr PL proposed to me - mullered at a bus stop in the pouring rain on his knee I told him to ask me in the morning when he was sober - bless him he did too - sitting up in bed waiting for me to wake up to ask me again.....:lol::lol:

Ahhhhh love all the above comments :D You big load of softys ;)

Alot of you think the same as me, if you feel it, then you feel it - why deny something you cant help 8)

I have had a few bfs in the past i have said it to before, but only because they said it to me so kinda felt obliged to say it back, even tho i didnt mean it

Then this BF comes along and i can safely say after all the tw*ts i have seen in the past handful of years this one has definately got me

A lady at work said to me 'you will just know when he comes along' and at first i was like pppftttt whatever, but bl**dy hell she is right.

I actualy cannot imagine myself with anyone else now :D
