The Ice Factory - Perth

Anyone been? Is it any good? We're staying in Perth in July and the Ice Factory is the nearest club. They've got Tiesto this weekend and Eric Prydz next weekend, so it looks alright :?:

The last time I was there was about a year ago I think, and it was really good. Used to have lots of good DJ's on, not really heard about it much though over the past year.

I reckon if you can go on a good night with good DJ, it'll be good :P

I'd stay away from any nights with a DJ thats a bit too commercial though. In Scotland, that equals Chav central ;)

The night we'll be there is 16th July - I'm hoping Erick decides to do a one-off special in Perth that weekend ;)

Do they have a website?

I'm sure there will definitely be something really good on in the area around that time 8) :P

Hi there becki, ive been once when a friend use to live up there, this was going back abit,..back then it was certainly more Trance based, but i heard there was alot of R n B nights there, but that must have changed since.

u can get more info here http://www.icefactory.co.uk/

Went once about 8yrs ago!! Was a cheesy local ritzy with some hardcore thrown in, but I think it has tried to sort its' act out recently. Did love the outdoor bbq/terrace, even though it was january :P

Main club in Perth, so likely to attract all sorts of everyone I would think - as the web pictures show! Along the lines of other 'town' clubs, but better than staying in!

This made me laugh though

Txt it in!!
Ice Factory txt Hotline: 07720 69 69 69

The Ice Factory now have there own txt hotline so you can send in your requests to the DJ on the night and get them to shout out or display your messages & special announcements on our big screen

a pic taken at random from their site

A pic so good you had to post it twice ;)

I doubt you'd get that kind of crowd on a trance/house night though would you? We'll probably only go there if there's a decent dj playing :P

yawannabetonit?

Well I havent ever been so I wouldn't really know. Have you been?

You could be right, but then it could also well be like a Ministry scenario... the crowd on the Friday are totally different from the crowd on the saturday :!:

As I mentioned, you will get all sorts of everyone in a club in such a small town, with a lot of them not having a clue who's playing because it will be 'their night fur goin doon the 'factory'

erm, no.

maybe you could get hold of the phone no of a dance music shop in Perth. Give them a call and see if therey know of any decent house parties in Perth that night.

Might be a better chance of not ending up in pish central

Out of interest Beckiboo, why u staying in Perth? It's not the most hip and happening of places! We're gonna be staying in a hotel in Perth the weekend before you but only for T in the Park :D

For the Golf Open that weekend  We're going up there with my family, so it's not sposed to be a clubbing weekend really, but I saw that the Ice Factory has a few good dj's there occasionally so we might go there on the Saturday if there's anything good on :?:

The rest of the time I want to spend moutain-walking/bird watching/white water rafting :D

(oh and watching golf  )

I see! I like St Andrews, nice place. Pity you couldn't escape to Glasgow for the night, it's not that far from Perth! Should be a nice holiday anyway. I remember you saying that you liked Scotland. You need to get up to the Highlands especially Glen Coe sometime, the landscape is beautiful.

I definately intend to try and get up to the Highlands! You know what Jon's like though, he'll probably want to spend the weekend in the local pub, he has NO interest in scenery/wildlife at all  The only reason I got him to come is because of the promise that Scotland had good clubs and maybe we could find one to go to on the Saturday

Just hop on a train from Perth to Glasgow on the Saturday night, takes under an hour, and then you'll have a huge choice of good nights out ;)

I second that. You're far better off getting the train to Glasgow for some decent clubbing rather than wasting your time in that cheesy dive.

I can't understand how anyone could not appreciate Scotland's scenery.

You London folk!
