The future for Privilege

What does the future hold now its lost its biggest weekly summer event (Tiesto).

Will there be another event that will fill the 10,000 odd capacity? Apart from going down the live band route, I cant really see any kind of club night that could fill it these days, unless Manumission turns up again, but it looks like this summer they really wont have any kind of sellout big scale event to bring in the numbers.

The fact of the matter is, there will always be a dj who is capable of filling the venue
It just comes down to "dj and club politics."

E.g: Swedes, Tiesto (proven but obviously now moved on apparently), David Guetta, Deadmau5, R1 weekend, Godskitchen.... or some other massive trance night etc. They obviously tend to be on the more comercial side.

I still also think Daft Punk should hold a residency there!!!!!

What kind of numbers did it get?
Gods pulled in about 3000 from what one of the promoters said. I'd of said that was good going for any club. Left a somewhat...lacking...atmosphere in Priv though.

As I've mentioned in other threads, get Deadmau5 onboard for a residency. He'll sell the place out, week after week.

If I owned the club I would shut down half of it and make it into a clubbing museum open for tours etc 7 days a week. With Its rich history and Guinness Book of Records brand it could be worth a punt. Speaking of gambles.......A casino would be another option.

The other half I would keep as a club but more intimate with about a 4000 max capacity.

Are the owners of Privilege not the same people behind the Ushuaia brand???

Well, if Coachella couldn't do it with $500,000 for a single gig (at least, that was the rumour I heard), then I doubt Privilege could do it for a season.

They played Coachella before, no need to play it again.

Besides, didn't Daft Punk get 'banned' from playing by all the big clubs as too many people tried impersonating them? Or is that part of the myth...

I dont understand all the daft punk comments... whats that all about? (Think I missed something... again) :spank:

That's crazy talk! How much do you think it would cost to tempt them into playing one gig never mind a full summer?

I know the chances are so small......But if it did happen, I think you'll agree it would be EPIC.

Also Ikoda, on your point about Coachella and the cost. I don't necessarily agree that they are motivated by money because I'm sure they've had a whole heap of events offered with big price tags! They are just one of those artists which no one knows much about!!!

By the comment, I meant that money has little interest for them. If it did, they'd of surely done Coachella.
