Tell us how it was - Ibiza 2025

Dates you were there: May 16-19

Where you stayed: Occidental Ibiza

Club nights visited: Slip Back in Time White Party @Es Paradis (Review), Pikes House Party (saw the queue and turned around)

Best night: none

Worst night: both

Best bar: sa Trinxa

Best place to eat: Only used the hotel buffet (all inclusive), it's not very fancy but good (except for orange juice).

Best beach and/or beach club: I only go to best beaches . Salinas and Cala Conta this time

Money spent: 500€ incl flights/hotels/car

Biggest regret: Not taking snorkeling gear - there were lots of fish, fish even bumped into me several times!

Going back?: September 2025 for ITE

Top tip: Observe the weather forecast so early in the season and plan accordingly. Not all days are sunny. Weather is different in different parts of the island.

Observations and/or conclusion:

Visiting Ibiza in May is now a routine for me. This was my first and probably last time at an all inclusive hotel in Ibiza - a hotel dinner time between 7-10pm just sucks, doesn't match my Ibiza schedule at all. And free flowing alcohol isn't of much use when you drive a rental car every day.

A big surprise was smelling jet fuel and hearing a helicopter doing maneuvers when walking back from Torre Rovira. I followed the sound - it turned out there was a gathering of model helicopter enthusiasts! They even had a tiny heliport there, equipped with a windsock. Probably the last thing I expected to see on Ibiza, was interesting to chat with these freaks 🤓

Friday - arrival at 7pm, check in, dinner at the hotel, sleep, Slip Back in Time @Es Paradis

Saturday - a whole day @sa Trinxa, groceries shopping at Mercadona, sunset at Port d'es Torrent, dinner at the hotel, drove to Pikes but turned back, explored the new psychedelic West End

Sunday - Torre Rovira, Space and Time, Puertas Can Soleil, hotel lunch, Cala Conta incl. sunset, hotel dinner

Monday - hotel pool, unsuccessful search for flamingos in salinas, flight back home at 3pm
What time the Pikes queue was that horrible? I try to match my arrival earlier then:)

I arrived at 23:45.

Later I discovered two mails from Pikes:
"The queue wait time is 30 minutes" - sent at 23:16
"The queue wait time is 45 minutes" - sent at 23:40

Lesson learned - check your mails frequently while in Ibiza 🤣

Note Pikes isn't free anymore - there is a mandatory 5EUR "charity contribution", at least that's what my ticket said. This is obviously peanuts, but someone must be testing the waters for paid entrance.

Dates you were there: 27-28 May

Where you stayed: La Bartola Guesthouse - Ibiza Town - loved it!! Central, quiet, clean, really comfortable! Single room with shared bathroom, the bathroom was just next door to my room and was kept in amazing condition, I actually booked it for 2 nights instead of just 1, as it was so cheap, and my flight back was at 9pm...best decision ever haha. Recommend it and will definitely come back!

Club nights visited: Pacha - Camelphat + Mind Against

Best night: Camelsss ❣️ got in just before 1 cos I really didn't want to miss Mind Against and stayed until the very end....music was amazing from both duos...honestly I've seen Camelphat many times and they never disappoint...the crowd was good and not many phones around...happy vibes🌞

Worst night: 0

Best bar: Pacha bar? haha. I have tried the drinks package and it's so good, i wish other clubs would introduce something similar at some point

Best place to eat: just bought some food+aquarius from the supermarket lol

Best beach and/or beach club: went to Salines for a few hours when i woke up, the water omg was so clear and warm, we all know is always beautiful but i think this is the best ive ever seen it! Also not so many people

Money spent: not much

Biggest regret: no regretsssssss

Going back?: next stop end of June for Prydz 😎

Top tip: not sure lol

Observations and/or conclusion: i just love it, more and more and more, don't know what else to say✨

Sounds like a good flying visit, really want to do something similar for Carl Cox at Univrs.

What is the Pacha drinks package? Like the tokens at Hi/Amnesia - 5 drinks for 95e?

Honestly it was so good and worth it! I got a flight after work and got there 11pm, quick change and run to Pacha, it's all so quick you don't even have time to think haha exciting! If you have good flights connection where you live, definitely do it😄 Even a super quick visit is worth.

I didn't know about the tokens, anyway these are the deals from Spotlight website:

It's a qr code at Ushuaia/Hi sorry, you take it to the bar and scan it each time and it knows how much you have left. My wife bought them for our trip in April and similar in previous years.

Shall report back if I find a date that works 😁

Dates you were there: 26th May to the 2nd of June

Where you stayed: First 2 nights at Pikes and next 5 at Imperio Playa Cala St Vincent

Pikes was special and the staff incredible. A very memorable 2 nights that I’ll never forget. The Imperio Playa was Perfect with a stunning sea view. Cala St Vincent is a beautiful part of the island

Club nights visited: Pikes Monday and Sven Opening at Las Dalias

Best night: Loved them both

Worst night: None

Best bar: watched the sun set at Space Eat and Dance and had a Few in The Golden Buddha not long after we landed Monday morning

Best place to eat: Prawn and Crab salad at Pikes was amazing and Boathouse in CSV was ace

Best beach and/or beach club: the Beach/Water at Cala St Vincent is Gorgeous and we went to Benirràs on our last Day. Had the market on and the whole vibe was great. It’s beautiful there and the water and views out to sea are amazing

Money spent: not loads but certainly enough. My Girlfriend doesn’t really drink which makes a big difference and we never go to mad on food and restaurants

Biggest regret: that we had to come home

Going back?: yes for 2 Nights on the Godskitchen weekend

Top tip: explore. Always explore. This time I made it round to the old lighthouse, Faro de Punta Grossa in CSV. Bit scary in places but it was amazing to finally turn a cliff side and see the lighthouse in the distance perched on the cliff edge. Stunning views and a cool place. So peaceful

Observations and/or conclusion: it’s my favourite place on earth and always will be. I’ve been going for 22 years and there’s still so so much I’d like to do on that island

I have a list and I’ll slowly be ticking things off forever. Going end of May for the first time was great. The temperature and weather for me was perfect. The island felt busy and everyone was happy. I was sad to leave. With the kids getting older I think 10 days and 2 week breaks will happen in the coming years

For me it’s the Paradise Island. My Happy Place

Dates you were there: last week in May

Where you stayed: Villa near San Antonio

Club nights visited: Pikes on Monday

Best night: Pikes. John Morales was outstanding and totally fitted the Pikes vibe. Great crowd in there too.

Worst night: N/a

Best bar: Didn’t really do any bars as with the fam.

Best place to eat: Sa Trinxa. Always impresses me how good the food is as they could get away with it being average (like two other beach restaurants we went to). Usually have some seafood but tried the lasagna and it was fantastic. (Also enjoyed Rita’s and Tapas thanks to recommendations on this forum.)

Best beach and/or beach club: Sa Trinxa (as always.) Amazing tunes for JST’s first gig this year. I saw on social media earlier this year how he was looking forward to playing Forms of Love at Sa Trinxa and it was perfect when he played it (twice!) Diving off that jetty after a jug of sangria and dancing on the beach is of one of life’s great pleasures.

Money spent: Haven’t checked but it felt like quite an expensive trip with two hungry kids in tow.

Biggest regret: being back at work ☹. And that our trip didn’t coincide with a Melon Bomb set or a strong Defected line up.

Going back?: Of course!

Top tip: As posted elsewhere, the taxi Whatsapp was excellent. Waited 10 mins once (busy time coming back from the beach) but otherwise they were at the villa in less than five minutes every time.

Observations and/or conclusion: First time in May and I would definitely return then. The weather was perfect – not a cloud all week. And the venues were really nicely busy but not too crazy. (Although the sunset strip fizzled out earlier than I remember from September after the sun went down – maybe down to more families in May. And soooo many hen dos at Mambo!)

It was nice to visit some new beaches (Cala Bassa, Cala Tarida and Port des Torrent) but none are a patch on Salines (although there was lots of smelly seaweed piled up – not seen that before).

Dates you were there: 9th - 16th June

Where you stayed: hotel cent, can’t fault it, never an issue with getting a sun bed. Stayed self catering. Little tip if you’re staying self catering, try and request room 55, it’s right next to the entrance to the pool, really convenient.

Club nights visited:

Monday circo loco - dc10 and sonny fodera - Pacha
Wednesday disco disco - pikes
Thursday boiler room - Amnesia
Saturday flower power - Pacha

Best night: Boiler room, good crowd, good music, everyone seemed to be really enjoying the night. The night was very much about the music, no real visuals. Both rooms with the DJ booth on the opposite side of the room to the usual layout.

Worst night: probably Circo, just wasn’t feeling it, terrace was impossible to get into, sound just wasn’t hitting the spot, vocals were almost imposssible to make out.

Best bar: sunrise

Best place to eat: don’t remember the name, found a great Asian place above jungle bowl in figueretes.

Best beach and/or beach club: es Cavallet

Money spent: honestly no idea, hotel was around 1300€ car hire and flights around 500€ spending somewhere between 1500€ and 2000€

This trip was very much about not counting the pennys for once, in the past I’ve always been budget conscious, this time we wanted to eat and drink out as much as possible. Spent a fair amount at the hippy market to

Biggest regret: non

Going back?: absolutely this was the best trip in several years, looking at the end of October next year

Top tip: definitely worth getting the drinks packages. We did for pacha and amnesia, we booked the sonny tickets right at the last minute on the first night and drinks packages were still available.

Observations and/or conclusion:

There are absolutely still lots of ways to do things cheap if you want to, Ibiza town though does seem very expensive now, sunrise Mona Lisa and the roof top bar above what was Angela’s have all got really expensive, nice for one or two drinks but to spend the night there drinking is expensive. Really sad to see the gay scene what it’s become, seeing the area next to Mona Lisa completely empty was such a shame, it will be interesting to see what happens there in the future with that entire building up for sale including Lola’s. Speaking to lots of the owners/workers in that area they all felt the same, the gay scene was really struggling.

Glad you enjoyed your trip.. We felt / feel the same about the Gay scene, the magic of the Lola's area, expensive like all that area. I spoke about it on here before how times have changed.. We stay in Fig also as still retains the older / local vibe.. Vi is the Asian place you're referring too as we also found it in September last, and we venture again this September.

Ah yes that’s the one really couldn’t fault it service and food spot on it was really interesting speaking to some of the owners about the scene, a few people suggesting matinee leaving was the final nail in the coffin. They were hopeful it could be turned around though too

Even La Troya is at Playa Soleil, so not ideal. Its still mad to think in such a liberal place like Ibiza, the scene is now so small / limited. BUT you never know what will start a fresh!
