Sunsets - how do you "do" them?

Was just reading through some old topis on kumharas with mixed views - also Sunset Strip and how people sometimes don't like the clientelle down there.

So how to you prefer to "do" the sunset.

I actually love being down at Mambo's and being in that atmosphere, but I have to say that the best sunset I ever saw was when I went down to the front of the rocks at coastline with a beer (totally away from everyone else) and just sat collecting my thoughts.
Our hotel is in San An bay, and one day I walked down to a big rocky area (not far from kumharas) with a couple of beers. I was the only person in the area as far as I could see and it was amazing.

What does everyone else think?

i do find the sunsets better when yr not surrounded by loadsa peeps... holds more of a personal magic..

Either at Mambo or Coastline with a San Mig and my group. Actually, anything is great. I went down to the beach and that rocky area of Coastline and just stood there by myself watching it and it was just as good. It's not how you "do" the sunset... it's how the sunset "does" you

My favourite sunsets usually happen towards the end of the day.

Unless i'm in Australia when they are at the begining of the day.

I love Cafe Del Mar, the original and best IMO. 8)

On every holiday I will have at least one sunset by myself on the beach too. It's very nice to share it with your friends but its nice to do (as stu hirst said) to collect your thoughts and centre yourself.

Kumharas is great too, just find mambo's crowd not as cool and mambo's is a bit brash.

the villa we had last year and for this year has a great rooftop terrace and the sunsets were really lovely coupled with a cold beer and a smoke. Also when we first went looking for Khumaras we went too far out of PdT and ended up on a cliff with only a camper van full of travellers there we sat on the end of the cliff and watched a spectacular sunset - probably couldnt find the cliff again (as with a lot of places you happen upon in Ibiza) but I would like too....

I do like the sunset stripand its lovely to be with others (but am I the only one who finds all the clapping when the sun sets cringeworthy yes its lovely when you get a perfect one - but its not the theatre??)

no its better than the theatre, it's natural and a very spiritual thing for lots of people.

and even if your not into the spiritual side people are celebrating what the night sky falling has meant for years in ibiza - partying! :P

each to their own but its funking annoying - beautiful tunes, setting sun, = spiritual and mystical - clapping - no!

I prefer sunsets on my own, don't need hundreds of people, just few friends, few drinks and few smokes.

i hate the sunsets at mambo and along that stretch, when everyone claps i want to stab them all to death

I prefer to watch them eating at kasbah, kanya or kumharas

Best one i ever saw was when we were at a villa in a forest in the middle of the island and the sunset down between two hill/mountain things and we had a load of gear

Kasbah was another great place for a sunset....

OK, I didn't really notice any clapping at Coastline or Mambo 2 yrs ago... I seem to have not noticed a lot of things in Ibiza my first time. I think I was just too mesmerized by it all, but I really don't remember hearing any clapping at all.

for me the heart of a good sunset is at mambo, me an my bloke normally grab a table way before, order drink an munchies an just chill, its beautiful

Grab a 6 pack of San Miguels from a fridge in a local shop and sit on the rocks for a smoke.

I always find the music is best from Mambos as Savannas and Cafe Del Mar seem to go over the top of each other.

Coastline is great too.
