Sunsets - how do you "do" them?

I'm gonna get one of those old style football fan rattles (you know the ones that go 'clack-clack-clack' when you spin 'em around) and go down to Mambo every evening and 'support' the Sun.
"Go on you Sun! 'Ave It!" *clack-clack-clack*

Whaddya reckon?

Top idea :D i shall purchase a loud haler and commentate on the suns progress as it sets :D Might do some mind altering drugs at the same time to make it all the more interesting. winner

true Stuie, I just dont get why peeps can get mad or "hate" something that´s very happy and cheerful.

Sure the sun is the same all around the world, but it seems to me it´s more celebrated in Ibiza and tradition. Some like traditions some don´t and sure Silvia - I don´t have the copyright on how to celebrate anything, BUT PLEASE: just don´t go saying things for the sake of just saying them in order to be opposite/negative. Yes the sun sets beautifully all around the meditteranian and maybe you´re being cynical or oblivious to its beauty - because you are lucky enuff to watch that sunset every day from where you live....

In denmark we have 3 months of decent weather, the rest of the time it rains, it´s cold and the sun´s not out - so you bet that every fibre in me is jumping with joy when I ´m watching that sunset on the strip with mutual buddies who embrace it and is just as positive about it as I am.

I.G :D

Agree with you that if we don't have something nice to say we just shut up but I add something else: don't try to convince people that what it's ok for you must be ok for everybody. Really it's the feeling I get when reading your posts.

And make for sure that if I live in Denmark I would be dying for a nice sunset (far from the strip) ;)

Aahh c'mon girlie's ... be friends again! :P  :P

Why don't people just "mime" clapping like the performers on the beach - then everyone will be happy.

Oh look it's raining - to celebrate i'm gonna have a w~~k,

Isn't nature wonderful :D

I dont think anyone´s having a fight, I THINK IT´S JUST ABOUT STATING your opinion. Sure I completely understand it´s not for all of us "the clapping ceremony", but surely I don´t need to tell peeps "oh I dont undertsand why people dont go to the strip, thats the only right thing to do" it works both ways - and surely this is just a tiny weeeeny problem seen from the moon.

so let´s all just be happy and yeah,m Im gonna start clapping once the sun breaks out here - its been up and down for weeks, the weather! not its just windy and boring outside

sunsets

I would have to say for me their are too type of sunsets..
i guess that sounds odd but.

what i mean.

is if i am with a group of people more than 3 i would say it's better to be
too be by mamdo's or cafe del mar more so it it's someone's first sunset..

but personally i like nothing better the sitting at a table at coastline, with the music playing and the fountains going as the sun set it is just magic..
plus the feed is always fantastic and the cocktails serverd in coconuts.

I will only be impressed if you douse your rattle in petrol and whirl it round your head at the appropriate moment as the sun drops - like the performers do on the strip..... I might clap at that! :D

The sun SET however is very different! ;)

Yes, probalby are different in Canada or in Alaska but trust me, travel around the mediterranean and you'll see that it's not that different. Or probably yes, probably are much better in Formentera

That's what I said. Maybe in England and the rest of Europe, the sunset is the same. Like in my previous post, come to Canada and tell me the sunset is the same. It's not. Hence, I appreciate Ibiza's sunsets much more.

8O - one of my more thoughtful contributions to this board over the years.

I don't think I saw this post?

I really like the fact people show appreciation for something of beauty - and it's endemic to the atmosphere on the island that people are so happy they're willing to celebrate 'small' things.. I don't see how cheering the planes at Bora Bora is very different..

Having said that, I don't particularly enjoy the crowds at sunset, so it's always cocktails at Kanya for me :)
