Space @ Eden

Has anyone been to Space @ Eden? I know it's not the "real" Space... They have had some great lineups so far, and several more coming! The only video I've seen so far looked like very few phones, not visual-focused, and lots of people having a good time.

Last night in room two was great. Sweaty vibe, smoke-machine working on overload, everybody surround the DJ a la Boiler Room and some quality techno from Dax J and Rene Wise. Musically, the main room wasn't my bag yesterday, but it was busy enough for an atmosphere. Personally, room two aside, I think it was one of their poorer line-ups, which would account for the lower attendance but I expect the next three weeks to be a lot busier. Not much in terms of "visuals" about from a few Space signs and boxlights. It's dark and the focus is on the music for sure

This is great to hear! I love a good, dark, music-focused experience like this. I know the more production-oriented nights get more exposure, but it seems like there's still a lot of good options that fall into this category. I don't see this as nostalgic, more like embracing a straightforward approach.

I have tickets for the party on 28 June , which looks like a great line up. Then I got taken aback by some comments in the Ibiza forums that the music in the past parties was not good, nowhere close to techno.

Looking at the lineup on 28th, I wouldn’t expect djs, like Dubfire, play anything commercial.

WIC, your review gave me some comfort that we would not be disappointed and wouldn’t have to look for a replacement party.

Hopefully more reviews will come in after the party on 21st.

Well, last Friday was billed as Techno, but the main room was definitely not. It was earbleed EDM to my mind. But room two was definitely the real deal. I think 28 June should be a great night musically

Thank you WIC.

No Late Replies last night - their flight was cancelled. Rampini (never heard of him) played the set before deadmau5 and was really good. Ended on Hale Bopp which sounded great on that sound system. deadmau5 then did his thing and I actually quite enjoyed it. Never went too cheesy and course included lots of his own tracks

It must be a bit of a different and fun experience seeing Deadmau5 without the visuals, I get the impression that's rare now. Probably allows more spontaneity. And based on what you've shared so far, it looks like this is a good night to try out.

How long are the sets? I see it's typically 4+ playing in each room

Just saw that Octave One is no longer playing Friday. Too bad to miss a live set.

Perhaps extended sets all night?

I'll provide the coda to my own thread.

Tonight was my first at Eden. It's not an imposing structure, if you pass by on the bay, but was more cavernous than I expected. Something about the collection of buildings, with Es Paradis next door, and the Slingshot overhanging and ever present, it seemed like what I imagined a carnival ride would be on a bright summer day.

Eden offers the same attractions, but being a Space-themed night, it's not a house of mirrors. The idea of "Space" is looking for a home, and Eden offers a generous welcome. It hasn't quite found its footing yet, but this is probably more appropriate for this moment in time. Having been to the original Space, where Hi now resides, the "mystery" of navigating the rooms feels similar. Eden's floor plan is kind of confusing when you look at it, but I appreciated the adventure!

With Guy J, Sasha and John Digweed headlining the night, it was in the right hands. Even more appropriate, Pepe Roselle made their introduction. It felt impassioned. The "idea of Space" was clear. This commentary came for the obvious, however... It's not "Space", it's obviously not the same building, there is no terrace, and there is no weird tube thing on the roof. I'm not sure if there is an outdoor area? It won't be opening at 7am. Far better people than myself can elucidate on those points. But the idea is there.

Everyone performed wonderfully. John Digweed's label is called "Bedrock", but I don't know if he even knew how that term would come to pass. He's the concrete foundation that holds everything together. I love Sasha's whimsy and fantastical hedonism, it's THE embodiment of what I consider the sound of Ibiza, but I really appreciate how they compliment each other.

So, what is the "idea of Space"? My definition will be different from everyone else's. What I have understood more than anything else, is that it's a home. A place where people feel comfortable, feel together, and identify more strongly than anywhere else in the world. That drive still exists. This isn't quite there yet, but the foundation is. And so is the dream of Space at Ibiza.

Way more eloquent then I'd be writing at the moment...

Went to Eden twice last year and enjoyed it but wasn't that busy so this time felt a little more "Ibiza" than 2023. Last night was full and two rooms open. Really really good night.

Innocently wandered down the back stairs behind the DJ booth and ended up in VIP. Went full "act like you belong 😆

Anyway, Linekar turned up and was presented a couple of times with drinks with sparklers. Mooched about in their sofa area and no-one said nought.

Last night was marginally quieter than Sven last week, but musically it was easily the best one yet. Guy J was incredible. Sasha & Digweed best I've seen them I reckon, at least for the first 1.5 hours. Sasha left the booth for about 5 minutes around 04:30, whether it was me who lost momentum or them, I thought it lost a bit of oomph from that point onwards. Left just before 5am, but very satisfied. Sound system properly put through its paces

Space @ Eden has its own vibe, but ppl keep saying it’s not the legendary Space. Still worth going though, solid lineups, and it feels more intimate. I've heard there aren’t many phones, people really live in the moment. If you’re looking for a party with no flashy lights but great music- Eden will deliver. Perfect for a night with good techno and house.
But yk it’s not the huge Space from Playa d’en Bossa, more underground but to me that’s a plus. And the lineups are wowser- from deadmau5 to Chris Liebing. Great alternative to bigger parties
