:lol: Even worse than i remember it at last years Tribal weekender :lol:

Awful awful place,i felt so sorry for all the familys on the program who had gone there for a holiday 8O I just about dealt with it when i was there in a mess for a weekend but these poor souls were there for a propper family holiday 8O 8O 8O

I honestly couldnt believe that it had got worse than last year...but it had :lol: 8O
 
I had a blinding weekend there for the Tribal Gathering in 2002 but would never consider going there for a holiday.
Only Chavs & Pikeys go to holiday camps for their holidays these days & they deserve everything they get :!:

Just because people cant afford extravagant holidays abroad does not mean they "deserve everything they get".

As you know some people go on holiday to Clacton and surely noone deserves that!!! :lol:
 
:D I think the chalet shown was ours ! Actually, that was a budget chalet shown last night wasnt it, so ours should have been better ! *chuckle* Was a lot better than the budget accom at Skegness, Butlins I can tell you! lol

I feel sorry for people who have booked their summer holiday there :( But for me, I didnt give a donkeys what it was like; so long as it had hot and cold running water - didn't spend much time in it and when we did we were having so much fun that we really didnt notice the state of the place.

I wouldnt even stay in one of those chalets even if it was already paid for me. Could possibly go to Big Reunion in Skegness and stay in a free one but i decided against it, what a shit hole.
 
Aww no, to be fair Drew, they didnt know the state the place would be in when they booked ...

Wait till you have children ... believe me, a holiday anywhere is a LUXURY ! It costs us over £200 a month just for bus fares and dinner money for the girls ..... then the little buggers need clothing too !

Once you have children, you never have money to spend just as you wish .. you really have to budget.
 
i went to Tribalgathering at Pontins - cause someone gave me their vip ticket so i couldnt complain ;) Also went to the big reunion in Skeggy the other year cause mates paid for me as i drove. The accom their was MUCH better than southport ( i think we had a newish chalet) and i didnt really have any complaints about the facilities, the pool was really good. Was full of scum though all weekend :roll:
 
If you had one of the Gallery apartments N8, then they are lovely .... the other budget style ones are rubbish !

I went for the music, not the accomodation.
 
Its all different levels of shitness though in the end isnt it ;)

It was the general overall condition of the whole place on the prog last night that was afwul, even in all the municipal facilities etc, had gone down loads in just a year from when i saw it....

these days you can get cheaper holidays abroad than those shit places. especially center parcs

Yes but if you have a young family with small children do you realise how much of a nightmare it is taking them abroad? Babies dont get on well with the heat!
Our parents took us to Butlins till we were 7/8 and they could take us abroad and i count it as some of the best hols we ever had, just us as a family. Centre parks is much, much more expensive considering you have to pay extra for 90% of the facilities and its not aimed so much at kids.
 
let's face it...during the weekenders your chalet is a place to crash, wash & stash...thats it, who gives a donald if it aint the ritz??
It's the poor sods who save up all year to go there for a week in July that I feel sorry for!! :cry:
 
Sorry didn't mean to offend. I was merely trying to point out that it's a matter of taste rather than the cost. I meant to imply that people who holiday at holiday camps lack taste not money :cry:
 
Our parents NEVER took us to holiday camps when we were kids.

They once took us travelling around Wales and we spotted a Butlins and hassled them to take us in there for the day. So, they releneted and took us in, saw how crap it was and left 10 minutes later with a full refund.

Like most young people with kids, our parents didn't have a lot of money to throw around, but still managed to take us on far more interesting holidays than Pontins/Butlins e.g. boating holidays on the lakes etc. They took us all over the country and mainly stayed in cottagey type B & B's. OK, sounds boring but there were always plenty of activities wherever we went.

Each to their own but early 80s, as two typical under 10s we had a fantastic time, and my parents are not your stereotypical gold and tracksuit wearing chavs- we have a respectable family: and dont get me wrong, we didnt miss out they took us to Florida, Dubai, Australia and all sorts of amazing places- but as a little one our parents played with us on the beach, in the pool, we played games in the chalet, went in the talent competitions with the other kiddies and that was perfect for us.
It annoys me when people label all of the places as a 'shithole' and everyone who goes there as a 'pikey' because its not true.
 
I don't consider myself as a pikey .. perhaps I'll have to re think .. he he .. cos I took our girls to Butlins a few years ago on one of the short weekend break things, and we had such a fun time that we went back twice the same summer !

I never went as a child ... wish I had in a way, perhaps I would have been a more sociable child.

There are some snobby fu ckers on this board !
