I suppose it could be anything really, scoobs how do you tell if there's a device on a cash machine? Is that where you run your finger across the card slot??

I know I'll get the money back, its just a whole loads of hassle waiting for it all to go through, and they've had to up my overdraft which will just end up getting me in more debt

I have goen through all the procuedures, of contacting the bank etc

The ones I've seen are like a little black box attached to the bit where your card goes in, although I think they can vary - if you weren't looking for it you could think it was part of the design of the cashpoint. Now if i'm not entirely sure I won't use the cashpoint.

I think my bank might have had some pictures on their website a while ago. i'll see if I can find them.

I think they call them "Lebanese Loops". Very sophistocated now.

Yeah, that's the one.

I've heard a few people get stuffed this way.

I avoid cash machines as much as possible and like someone said above, try and use cash-back wherever possible.

Don't worry Leese, you'll get it back but you could do without all the inconvenience of it.

;)

Poor Leese, I am sorry to hear this happened to you dear!!!!

I think merchants need to be much more dilligent when it comes to checking ID's upon paying for things. My purse was stolen once, and some little bitch was running all over town USING MY CHECKBOOK to pay for almost $2,000 worth of groceries, sporting goods, fancy dinners etc. so apparently her ID was never checked... her signature looked nothing like mine either!

I went in to most of the places she shopped with check copies from my bank (with my real signature on the page, so they could see how different mine was from the criminal's), and basically bitched out the managers. Von's groceries gave me a $100 gift certificate as an apology, class outfit. No one else gave me sh*t.

I suppose they wouldn't have lost out on any money so why should they!!! Its so annoying. My ex bf was writing cheques in my name once, (yup, I did used to pick em  ), and the signature he done looked absolutely nothing like mine, when I went to see my bank about it they said it wasn't their problem 8O I was only 17 at the time so didn't row my case  wish I did now, I lost so much money, and I was only working at little chef :? 8O

Leese im really sorry to hear about the money , i hope they catch the bastards!!

Thanks darling, I'm sure they won't catch them, and if they did, they probably wouldn't do anything! Least I've learnt something from all this. I'm one of those who always thinks it'll never happen, now it has :)

Few years ago i bought a jacket when I was in Blackpool, then a few weeks later I noticed my account was quite overdrawn 8O

I noticed someone had used my account to pay for a bill to a compnay up in north west England :x

Barclays were good, they extended my o/d & I was credited within a few days-no charges to me, & they carried on with their investigations.

Be careful when you go to cash points as some of these lebanese loops have cameras in doing a BB on you :!:
