> Solomun in Ibiza port, 20th July 2016

a lot of contacts have been there, heard he play shakedown -at night...
im not convinced by his music through some videos posted & will forget for his party at Pacha & destino too...
won't say no to free after party for closing 16...

solomun often plays stuff like that at daytime/outdoor parties or during the last hour inside pacha. but it's not really representative of what he plays at 4am.

i "ve just extracted all my cds of House from year 98-2002 since 2 weeks in order to fit my 16Gb USB for august 16...
guess the ride in ibz by car are gonna be huge  as nothing can't beat this selection :p disco House like this

I was wrecked from Formentera all day so I o only stayed for 30 mins roughly 930-10. There's some new Cafe Del Mar remix he played. I remember Luciano also playing this at Cocoon July 11. It was okay, very up and down too much bass. The atmosphere was great tho, ppl did bring their dogs! Wish I did stay for the whole thing but I had to go

Looks like the +1 is doing 0030-0300 every week at the moment. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Good 2.5 hours set lengh. I'm guessing the only exception will be Sven (and maybe Richie) where Solomun may open and let them take the peak time slot.

For Solomun and Dixon, Dixon didn't come on until 1:15, 1:30 or so. It was obvious he was waiting for more people to show up before starting up his set.

Interesting. Never understand this. I always respect the likes of Sven for example who sometimes loves being the first in a Club and play while it fills up. Even Richie Hawtin did this occasionally at Enter. Door opens and he's there playing. It's brilliant, and you get a much more versatile set.

there's a real art to being a warm-up DJ. it means getting the right tempo, not having an ego, and never upstaging the bride. too many kids bang it out to empty rooms and you have to ask WHY? it should instead be an opportunity to experiment and hone your craft

It's called ego man. for what it's worth, Alex Kennnon spun a brilliant suspenseful opening set that you didn't know where it was going.
