Which one gfunk? Amey, Fitzpatrick, Carrillion?

I work for a company called SpadeOak based in the High Wycombe (calm down Nitefly - btw drove past your favourite Wycombe pub today), we have just been bought by Foster Yeomans.

Had much to do with them? As a civils outfit rather than materials supplier, I mean?

 As I told many a subbie, having previously pointed out the risks in a sub-contract, don't complain about being held to the terms and condition of a contract you signed before you started the work. If you don't understand it, employ someone who does. If you can't deliver what you've promised, then don't promise it. And, when you've ignored all the warnings I gave you because you think running a business involves saying anything to secure work and that once you've done that it's everyone else responsibility to make sure you don't lose money, don't tell people that it the QS that made you bomb out, because the QS really couldn't give a flying one.

Agree entirely.

Exactly why we're so successful compared with our competitors cos we've made it work the other way around.

My previous post wasn't aimed at blame for companies losing out, it was more to do with QS's not understanding value-for-money.

Just generalising of course ;)

See your vans around a lot Buckley - Tony Mc Fadden isn't it, always seems to be a bump in the road the next day tho

 That's just a bit extra we give back to the community. We're like the Halifax

Yup, you'll be seeing more and more of us...muuuaahhhaahhhaa

I thought so, it was you who was the ringleader of all those corporate charity threads in the last couple of weeks - a budding Bill Gates.

(Did you ever get your stolen ban back?)

Indeed, in fact I use the nom de plume 'Gill Bates' when checking into hotels incognito  I wasn't actually involved in said threads though.

Got the van back but it was empty of the plant on the back. Installing live tracking on everything now.

F Yeomans seem to only do contract work out west and they are pretty crap at it, I think they bought us to guarantee that we continue to spend £6million with them every year
