It's quite interesting how many people have senior/management roles and yet still go mad of a weekend. There must be some interesting managerial decisions made on a monday morning!!

That's why i had to tone it down in a big way.

I'm responsible for 20+ staff which takes more than 5 brain cells to deal with on a monday morning.

It got to the point where i was coming in Saturdays to do most of my monday work in advance

A more serious reply from me now

I am a Senior National account manager for a large Pharmaceutical company responsible for sales of around £15M. To the point above I simply cannot do a big night out more than once a month, I find the monday and tuesday yield a limited output and to do it each weeek would just be impossible if I wanted to keep the job. I admire those on here who do manage it, it takes a lot of willpower I find to resist the temptation of clubbing every week :?

Which co. do you work for? (if you don't mind me asking  )

My brother has a brilliant job with Novartis in Switzerland.

No, we tend to use a variety, sometimes Lux, but they are all rip off merchants and fair play to them.
Why do you ask Drew?

Do you use 'Chevron' for traffic management?

Which one gfunk? Amey, Fitzpatrick, Carrillion?

I used to use Chevron (occassionally) in my Highways Maintenance days Drew - aren't they based somewhere near your bro-in-law? Does he work there? He might have encountered a particularly difficuly Quantity Surveyor a few years back 8O

I'm a Business Analyst/Programmer and it bores the hell out of me but hopefully i'm going to change that soon.... and yes i know i've been saying that for ages

Get going Karlos! I've just landed that job I had interviews for, start middle of next month. It was all easier than I expected, next to no hassle.

Yup :P

You should be ashamed of yourself dear boy

 As I told many a subbie, having previously pointed out the risks in a sub-contract, don't complain about being held to the terms and condition of a contract you signed before you started the work. If you don't understand it, employ someone who does. If you can't deliver what you've promised, then don't promise it. And, when you've ignored all the warnings I gave you because you think running a business involves saying anything to secure work and that once you've done that it's everyone else responsibility to make sure you don't lose money, don't tell people that it the QS that made you bomb out, because the QS really couldn't give a flying one.

So... I was great to deal with for the average 'muck and bullets' subbie who thought that buying some halfwit Contracts Manager breakfast was the road to guranteed riches

What about those olives though, eh? Could ruin the season if Kasbah doesn't get that sorted.......

I work for a company called SpadeOak based in the High Wycombe (calm down Nitefly - btw drove past your favourite Wycombe pub today), we have just been bought by Foster Yeomans.

See your vans around a lot Buckley - Tony Mc Fadden isn't it, always seems to be a bump in the road the next day tho
