It's certainly not rammed, but mid august it was a nice change, plenty of people their to make a good atmosphere. When we went we managed to get a photo with Ferry before going on stage and got chatting with John O'Callaghan who was just chilling on the dancefloor, it's a refreshing change to clubbing in Ibiza :)

Went to Carnival during the 2nd week of August and it was busy enough to be enjoyable. Around 150 people at a guess. May have gotten busier later as we got in free before 1am (or maybe not?)

It was full of English people cracking on after a day at the Zoo :p

I'm literally just back from ibiza and went to carnival after the zoo on wed, I was a great night, the 2 smaller rooms didn't have many ppl in them but wer still good especially the upstairs room. The main room was really good it wasnt rammed but it had plenty of ppl to make it good. Mostly English continuing from channel zoo. Drink prices were decent only one I remember is 3shots of herbias for 9euro.

I heard it's a quite night (Monza) no more than 50 people in there... It's been said on here a few times. Most people said it was a good club & music just very quite. 8)

I ended up there for Monza in August, had a great night. Thought the sound was really nice but the lighting looked tacky in my opinion. I wasn't quiet but not rammed, was comfortable.

i just copied and pasted what they posted the other day..... i didn't know they already announced it last year!! :?

ah - that was all the posted? well that's still good news I think... it had been so quiet with no new news in the past year that it seemed as if wasn't going to happen. The original news came out last summer with a few details but i've not seen any updates on it in a looong time.

From the little I saw of it (closing party), reckon Sankeys has the capability to stand the test despite the venue's chequered past and early teething problems with the nights and promotion.

Taking Carnival out of the frame on a Wednesday would have left a big hole for anyone looking for a more underground option last season (especially on Disco weeks @ From Disco to Techno), and the venue did lend itself to a deeper style. Monza is widely reported to have been a blasting success and probably carried the show, so to speak - although my own dates never allowed for a look-see.

Maybe it was due to the very late announcement and targeting by promotional team, but the only slight disappointment was the crowd being so overwhelmingly British-dominated at the Closing (you could very easily have been back in Blighty already !). As much for the fact that it suggested the brand hadn't made much positive impact yet in Ibiza outside the English market.. tho' I don't know what it was like on other nights.

In the long term, wider appeal might help support more nights and more consistent numbers - as well as helping to attract a more cosmopolitsan crowd - which in my book is usually a good thing for the vibe when you're out for the night.

Whichever way you look at it they took a huge gamble, tore up the plan more than once, quelled the sceptics by the end of the season and came out fighting at the end with a blinder closing party lineup (wasted DJ no-shows notwithstanding !). Good effort all round.
