just uploaded the diynamic line ups into our calendar guys. can't help but think sankeys has a really strong line up this year if you have a look at what's confirmed so far. diynamic, viva and carnival really look good!

ah and by the way, if you're coming for the final closings this year, make sure you stay at least until wednesday, because sankeys is closing the day after dc10 closing (tuesday october 9th).

Why is it a week later this year?
 
Wondering why everything is closing later this year also"? Think I'll be on the island for 25 days going at this rate lol
 
It's just the way the calendar week happens to fall this year compared to previous years.

Traditionally Space Opening is always last Sunday in May and closing first Sunday in October.

I guess Sankey's putting their closing party after DC10's is a tactical move. Who knows, it may well pay off. Still plenty of people about by then, and hotels/flights will be considerably cheaper!

I think if the clubs can maintain their numbers and profits this Summer, it'll be a huge indication whether they can go ahead with this proposed "extended disco season" in future years.

cos the clubs (mainly space initially) are making a conscious decision to try to extend the season at the behest of government pressure to try to lengthen their opening period to something like mid-may to mid october. nearly a month potentially.

it's not, it's longer. we love and others are running for an extra week.
 
I know its longer. And I know that We Love and other parties are running for longer stretches than they have done previously.

But I haven't seen any official statement from the clubs and/or promoters regarding their attempts at extending the season, only the proposals from the government. And as far as I was aware this was still very much at the discussion stage, with the likelihood that it would be a slow implementation.

If the days had fallen differently, then the season would have been the same number of weeks as years gone by.

Yep, this year was a leap year, where the extra day was on a Sunday hence Space is still closing on the first Sunday in October. If it hadn't been a leap year we'll never know if Space would have closed on the 1st or extended to the 8th.

This is what I thought. I think some people have misread my initial post. I was always aware this season was a week longer than last year. I was merely stating the reasons as to why I thought it was a week longer.

Can't see it being free for opening as it will be busy. The difference with Ferry Corsten was the pr were literally trying to pull you in off the street last year to get you in. Not many people in Pdb interested in trance unsurprisingly
 
I was really excited to go to Sankeys but seems like most nights are closing before i get on the island ( 17.9 - undecided).

Hopefully a few more events spring up in September.
 
Monza

i read on here last month that Monza had confirmed their opening night for the 31st, but can't see it on the Party calender or the Sankeys website... does anyone know if its still happening that day?

it changed from confirmed to un-confirmed again. we're waiting on news from monza respectively sankeys.
