*** Sankeys 2012 ***

This thread is entitled Sankeys therefore anything to do with sankeys is relevant. I am really looking forward to attending the Carnival night twice. The line ups look awesome. I would have liked to go to the Viva night if Carnival didn't look so good as I haven't seen Steve Lawler in a while, but Wednesdays have been allocated as night off clubbing

Disappointed with Propaganda moving. Evidently only there to sell tickets rather than stay for a season to help Sankeys. Also, the ticket prices have gone up with the move to Es Paradis

Is Sankey's a sinking?
Monza, Propaganda and now Baccanali all jumping ship. :?

Propaganda claim the move is because it's popular, not due to lack of punters. Makes me wonder if something is wrong with management?

Mac, Stivi, others on the island: do you know how the numbers are for their big nights? (Viva, Carnival)

Hmmm...

After they came through a difficult first year I had high hopes this year. Some of the line-ups have been top drawer!

But signs do not look good.

That said, from what I hear, Es Paradis don't have much to rave about either. Be interested to hear what workers are saying?

Im sure Viva,Carnival and Diynamic must be doing really well for Sankeys.

You would hope so. I only hear good reports from those who have gone. But they still say it's isn't busy enough, and the nights end too early :(

I think Shankeys thought too big and tried to fill every night, which you can understand when you have ills to pay.

In some ways their best bet would have been to build a solid night and build the club around this, i.e. create a buzz. Carnival, Dinamic, Viva have the potential to be big big nights. They should have started with these and build them up. Look at how DC10 built up around Circo Loco... and now other nights Pandemonium, Hot Creations etc have now built up.

Also, while the above Shankeys nights are amazing, and I do like the place, who right now comes to Ibiza and says "I must do Shankeys". People have limited money, and if you are there for a short period, then you do the big clubs.

I really hope it lasts as its a great addition to Ibiza.

said three nights ARE doing well, fact. carnival on saturday was packed. viva on wed was very busy as well and diynamic was perfectly busy (don't forget that one goes up against coxy!).

Me!
Although when i say it I say Sankeys not shankeys lol :) I agree with your point I think 2 or 3 big nights is ample for a small club

With the likes of Monza & Baccanli i can't see them pulling in the same sort of crowds Viva, Carnival & Diynamic would.

Moving to free daytime venues would be better for them as promoters/brands as you're more likely to get the crowds in, or at least people wandering by to check them out.

Just got my Viva Warrior Tickets :D as I was going to have a night off i'm not that fussed if it's only a good night tbh, that way i'm bound to have a good time, room to dance undground music mmmm I love it! What time does it finnish then, as you said Sankeys shuts early?:)

Thanks....

I went to Sankeys twice this month, and can't say anything apart from how impressed I am!

Great club with a great crowd. Drinks were not as cheap as I expected, but I didn't even need to be that intoxicated as the music was simply brilliant.

I attended Viva and Carnival.
Gutted I missed Dynamic!
