It's Pacha's awards ceremony, surely they can give awards to whoever they want to.

If Plastik doesn't like it they could have their own event. Isn't the whole point of an award is that it is given freely, and not in response to petulant demands?

Do the Pacha girls get awards for being beautiful? Like who's won Best Dancer in the Cocktail Glass, Best Podium, Best Body on the Beach for the Live Adverts?

nice to see an article that acknowledges that not all british tourists are vomiting football top wearing yobs!

CCTV cameras have been introduced, resulting in a dramatic reduction in the number of so-called "looky-looky" men, whose previous trade of cheap sunglasses, jewellery and watches evolved into something altogether more nefarious and narcotic
joan pantaleoni announced this morning that, after the success of the 7 cameras, they will install more:

here is a review you might find interesting:

So what of the Flea Pit that we all know fondly as San An? Well if we are all honest to ourselves then we have to admit that it isn’t really all that bad, yes the West End can more often than not be compared an enclosure full of BSE riddled cattle, but you can actually spend time in San Antonio and avoid that one strip.
San An let us not forget also houses the famous sunset strip of bars, that every night sees thousands of holiday makers perform the pilgrimage to razor edged rock formations outside the famous establishments of Café’s Mambo and Del Mar. I still find it amazing when thousands of people join together in mass applause and whoops of excitement as the sun, yes that’s the same sun that sets in Skegness, drops behind the ocean. Ok Ok I admit I do get that twinge of ‘We are all a part of something so much bigger’, but I also have a small chuckle to myself when its one of the many cloudy nights on the island.

So what can u expect from San Antonio’s parlour of delights this summer?? Well as just mentioned, all of the bars on the strip are still there. Coastline is still rocking come day or night and Kanya is still providing some daylight debauchery for the party massive. Although be warned, get in as much Kanya as you can coz word on street says that the owners are going to demolish it after this summer to rebuild it with a small club out the back.
Over time we have seen the pulling power of these bars slip from one mighty establishment (Del Mar) across to another (Mambo’s). Mambo’s is most definitely the daddy now and provides a chance for holiday makers to see their favourite DJ’s up close…. Well… as close as a roped off section anyways but that’s better than most places. It’s the atmosphere at Mambo’s that has always been the winner, but for me it is Mambo’s sister Savannah that gains more of my attention and euro’s. With friendly staff, a fantastic layout, which includes an excellent decked seating and eating area, and great tunage throughout the afternoon and evening. Not only that they also have a great little backroom, that plays host to some fantastic workers parties.

WHICH takes me nicely back to the West End, yes I know, nicely! When I worked on the island a couple of years ago, Plastik had just opened and brought a bit of style, and definitely some better music to the West End. Or rather just off the West End by Mega Music. The owners have done well to employ some fine English talent behind the bar and Dermot the manager and resident knows how to keep the party vibes going. Then you have Hush. Opened this year, and again situated on one of the streets just off the main strip. This is home to the best workers party on the island ‘Filthy Gorgeous’, run by two of the most seasoned workers you’ll find. Jamie, who runs the promotions for the Orange Corner bar and Scott who last year was Mambo’s resident, but has this taken up a residency with Itaca, have on their hands a growing beast!!! These boys have tapped into the popularity of the Electro vibe that has hit the island and throw a full on night of ‘Filthy Gorgeous’ fun that is not just for the workers…. Check it out!!!!

So what about the clubs then?? Well in San An you have Es Paradis, where, if we’re gonna be honest, nothing actually seems to work, unless that is you wear copious amounts of Burberry and love moshing away to DJ Sammy. They do have one successful night with the “Tidy V Euphoria” boshathons that they hold, and even though this isn’t my scene anymore, I have to give them full respect for building a successful night in the allabasta pyramid.

Eden is faring better with its ‘Ladies Free’ Westwood gets to perv night, and yes even though there are copious amounts of lovely looking females in there, would you honestly put yourself through a night with that knob??!! Ok some of you would, but I’ll be off to Ibiza town where the clubs and the girls are of a far superior standard. If you do wanna check out Eden then may I suggest either Judgement Sunday, purely for the back room, where this year you may get to see the likes of top lads the Trophy Twins, and my choice the ‘Finger Lickin’ crew, including the amazing Krafty Kuts…… Or….. Dusted on a Friday, again purely for the backroom.
Right, now I’m gonna put my neck out here, but unless they were just having the most amazing set of their lives, coz I know for a fact I wasn’t that battered that night, the weekly residents ‘Electric Sex’, played THE best set that I have heard possibly all year. These boys as the lanky, confused son of a reverend would say, are “THE BOMB”! Ryan and Andy, played a set that covered many house genres, but had a sustained level of complete and utter, sadistic filth!!!! These boys are awesome…. Electro, techno, acid, breaks, jackin nastiness!!!! I can not recommend them enough…. God I hope it wasn’t a fluke!

How are you a yob just because you wear a football top? As far as i knew the real football yobs never wear football shirts and instead wear burberry or henri lloyd or summat like that.

Port Security.
The port of Sant Antoni will have to be adapted by next summer to meet EU safety measures which dictate that all ferry passengers arriving from over 40 nautical miles away must be identified as they land. This directive excludes ferries from Formentera but includes all the rest arriving in the busy port of Sant Antoni. To meet these demands it is proposed to build a wall around the ferry landing platform & terminal making it impossible for passengers to leave the area without passing through the ferry terminal where their identity can easily be checked. In another EU imposed security measure, the fuel depot at the port will also have a wall constructed around it. It is thought that these improved security measures will also help the fight against drug smuggling.

Bye-Laws to Fight Prostitution.
Sant Antoni Town Council is adopting the bye laws used in Calvia in Mallorca to fight street prostitution & will start to fine this activity from 2006 on once they have officially passed their own version of the prostitution bye-law. It appears that until these bye-laws are officially passed by the Town Council, the police in the town have not been able to control or act against this growing problem in the borough.
Women's & prostitute rights group criticised the Sant Antoni plan saying that driving prostitutes off the streets pushed them into the control of pimps. They also said that it showed a double moral standard where the community didn't want to see call girls on the streets but still wanted the services they offered. The World Medical Association said that the authorities should penalise the pimps who control the prostitutes & not the women themselves who are often victims & exploited badly by organised crime & "mafias".
