San Antonio for the sunset

Going to be over that way for DJ Harvey at Pikes next month and want to take some friends who've never been to Ibiza to watch the sunset beforehand.

As there's a big group of us and we'll be relying on taxis, I thought to go to San Antonio to watch it before heading to Pikes. But as it'll be peak season (and it's the pre-club for Steve Aoki at Mambo), I thought best to avoid that area.

So where is good to watch the sunset in and around San Antonio these days which has a nice vibe and won't be rammed full of drunk British teenagers?

Is Kumharas better than Golden Buddha then? Surprisingly never been.

ok so lots of questions....

kumharas is far from the sunset strip so you don't get the masses. golden buddha can still be pretty busy, even though it's on the other end of the sunset strip (but if you do go there, it's also the place that gets my vote). kumharas is out in san an bay, so a pretty long walk from the centre (or a short and cheap taxi ride).

hostal la torre is even further out and has a great location. it's changed owners just this year and is now owned by the anadon family (mambo group). I haven't been since they re-opened so can't comment on it, but I used to love it. back in the day it was a very laidback place where you used to go to see the sunset, have a drink and a snack - they didn't really do 'proper' dinner, but more like tapas stuff. as for food at kumharas, the last time I ate there is 10 years ago, so again I can't comment on this, but their cocktails always have been mint.

Maybe even try the "aquarium" bar? Not far from Cala Gracio.

Kumharas for sure. Imagine Bar in Port Es Torrent for not quite sunset on the sea, but a nice place.

Kumharas gets my vote. Jump in the water taxi to Fiesta Millord and get off the boat and walk for about 2 minutes round the coastal rocks (right turn off of the boat) and you are there

I love the Buddha bar, great food, very relaxing at sunset, and the fact it's only 100 yards or so from the hotel we always use.

Thanks Buckley! There'll probably be around 20 of us, but all arriving at different times.
