Wasn't that impressed. Pretty unkempt and lots of graffiti, and it's not like prices reflect this. Loads of nicer cities to visit IMO.

the graffiti is really bad here too and in Lisbon. I love good artwork but so much of it just makes cities look like a shithole.

The thing is Lisbon is beat up too, and I really enjoyed Lisbon.

Have you been to Naples? I met a guy here from that area and expecting him to get all offended when I asked if it really was as bad as all the stereotypes and solemnly he replied, "no it is FAR worse"

good article about the Gomorrah. classic instance of planners forgetting that humans actually have to live in these projects.. (good tv though!)

[Nostalgic]

Berlin has loads of it plus poster flyers stuck everywhere. The streets were clean though, and saw hardly any litter

I liked Berlin even less. (Didn't see any of the clubbing side, though.)

Haven't been to Naples, though have been to nearby Sorrento (more a seaside town) as a kid. Went to Florence maybe a decade ago and thought it was beautiful.
