robbed

As bad as it is, I have no sympathy for people who only take cash on holiday. Travellers cheques all the way.
I don't understand the point of your comment , unless ofcourse you just trying to demostrate how clever you are and how stupid others are. Letting themselves to be robbed. And you are so unpolite to make your thoughs clear for all.

My brother was lucky enough to take his credit and debit card because he has one, so he wasn't so unlucky , he was taking cash just when he needed it, same with some of his friends, but other that was with him don't even have a bank account and the money they had it was they saving for this particular Ibiza weekend wich they have been planning for over a year.
I would say I have no sympathy for the thiefs..

Not being rude but people know what Ibiza is like nowadays so defies belief that people take cash.

Fair comment I think.

Thanks for all the supporting comments:D

Are you two bum bandits?

I feel very sorry for your brother and his mates. If you read my review, we also got robbed big time. We didn't let it stop us from enjoying our hols. After all, we're still in Ibiza.

@ mikkak - dijo que somos maricas:lol:

Well, I wasn't going to post in here but I reconsidered so as to show my solidarity with Mikkak.

Travellers cheques are outdated. Forget about them. Even Karl Malden, the guy that did the famous American Express commercials, is already dead.

Debit/credit cards are the way to go. Especially if you've got more than one so you can leave one in the room and take another with you.

Good on your brother, Mikkak, that he was properly prepared.

Sorry to hear about what happened. I hope that he and his friends were able to roll with the punches and still have some fun. That's what you've gotta do in these situations.

There... does that make me a bum bandit?

hola John:D:D:D
Thanks for your comment!!!! they found all the mess saturday morning when comming back from Amnesia( where they had a brilliant nigth), well at first there was a comedown,, but then when they solved the report to the Guardia civil, when to the hotel with them, etc , they headed to Bora Bora and had fun, saturday nigth an early nigth and prepared to WLS where they had a great great time. They had a great weekend afterall.
As i have the opportunity again, I know I am repeating myself, I will say that not everybody is working and have bank accounts and visas and cards, etc. my brother and some friends they have !!! so they got they money save, but others don't have any because they are very young, not worked before and they take cash because is what they have!!! and every one has they own personal situation and is sad that being the victim are critizied.
And I also think that Ibiza is still a safe place.
So besitos to everyone and a big one to you morbyd long time since with found our ways in a thread!!!:D

like i said, i'm sorry to hear your brother and his friends were robbed, but glad to hear they still managed to go out and have a blast.

to be honest, though, I am surprised that someone wouldn't even have a bank account.. I've had one since I was about 7, and didn't have very much money in it. I know with child accounts they don't charge for having an account.. with my bank anyway

I am 31 and my first bank account was about 5 years ago, till i had a formal work i never needed it, so i didn't have one. I am not saying is norama, I know it isn't :lol::lol::lol:
I know nowadays is normal to have one so I addmit is strange not to have one, even if it a saving account wich many parents have to they children when they are very young, for example my brother is diferent than me and he has one for many years now!!! he is just 21.
:D

sorry to detract from the title, Mikkak, but just curious, did you just get paid in cash for any casual jobs you had?

I know that my summer jobs when i was 15 or 16 I had to have a bank account where they would direct deposit my pay into

i used to work for my family, so things were really simple in that point.
If I needed a bank account, and hardly can remember using one, i used to use my parents one. And if i wanted to save money i used aswell my parents one. And i used to spend all that i had. Its stupid cause opening an account is just so easy, but i didn't use to care about this sort of things. Plus i still live with my parents, maybe it has too do:oops::oops::oops:
My brother is diferent and he opened a saving account many years ago.
