Sad to read that Manuel Göttsching has passed away. Mostly famous for E2E4, that hour long ambient piece with the iconic chessboard cover which would go on to form the basis of Sueño Latino (a record of intense emotional significance for me). I also really liked his later collabs with Joe Claussell amongst others.

Ali Ahmed Aslam, Credited With Inventing Chicken Tikka Masala, Dies at 77​

A chef who is believed to have invented the chicken tikka masala, regarded as Britain’s favourite curry, has died aged 77.

Ali Ahmed Aslam’s death on Monday was announced by his Shish Mahal restaurant in Glasgow, which closed for 48 hours as a mark of respect. The eatery announced: “Hey, Shish Snobs … Mr Ali passed away this morning … We are all absolutely devastated and heartbroken.”
