RESISTANCE IBIZA [Sasha & Digweed] @ Privilege 2017

Any ideas how this ones looking @stivi , you think the Carl Cox effect might roll over to next Tuesday..........

actually resistance opening is pretty good, doesn't really "need" cox IMO. maybe it's someone who's playing circoloco the day before? but let's see.

It's a weird one to predict this. I am trying to get in the mind of an average holiday-clubber, and will this be a massive pull? But with tickets still at €30, Ibiza being at its most busy when this residency is on, and I am guessing a hell of a lot of wrist-bands and discounts on offer, then it may get a good pull. Quite a few guys in their 40s have just happened to be on holiday with the family in Ibiza this August, and allowed one night out! But is that enough to full Privi? I wonder if they are setting up the whole room, or going for the old Monza type layout.... i.e. half the room.
I'm in Ibiza in two weeks with the family. I'm doing Cocoon with my daughter then HS82 at Pacha with her boyfriend in tow too. I'm just not massively pulled towards S and D at Privilege and I've no idea why?

Maybe because electronic \ underground music is a lot about progress and innovation, and S&D are ancient relics ?
Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to see these two at Space closing (Sasha alone was pretty great too), in that nostalgic event, but outside of that context, I just don't see it either...

To be fair I am not sure I would class Digweed as a "ancient relic". I am probably in a small minority that prefers the sound he pushes these days over his older stuff. Most of the stuff he plays is pretty fresh. Have not heard a solo Sasha set since DC10 c2014, so can't comment much on him.

not sure about this, they smashed it at Glastonbury, and they don't really play classics, they are pretty forward thinking

I didn't think they play classics, but i'm sure there is a lot of younger blood out there, with more thirst to impress and perform better.
PS.
Never understood that "smashed it" phrase...
I don't want any artist to smash anything, that video of Hawtin almost smashing that girl's face with a monitor, was more than enough for me...

I meant the momentum of Cox Tuesdays carrying on this week, not him playing. Ultra/Resistance/Cox crowd is similar so the Tuesday at Privi feeling may be sinking in. Hopefully none of the circo loco dj's turn up as lineup is not so good techno wise this Monday. Not sure theres room for cox on the lineup anyway as he would want at least 2 hours and time is already tight in the main room. Difficult to predict the special guest........

my take is YES, the two coxy tuesdays will have a bit of an effect and might have woken up the curiosity of people who have either never been to privilege before or haven't gone in ages. but that said, resistance is completely new on the island and it just isn't of the same calibre as those two coxy dates were.

I'm hoping it'll do well, but realistically I can't see it reaching the levels of attendance coxy had, no way. we'll really only know after the first date.

It all bodes well, riskyish concept from Resistance and S & D aint no Cox on the pull front in ibiza but I think theres enough ingredients in the mix to make it work. Cheap price, good current lineup without selling out to much and a few different names in vista, ultra/resistance reputation for production etc..... Anyway, its all in the hands of the promotion teams now and even without cox numbers i think its likely to be an enjoyable party, especially for the opening. Got to be tempting a few people away from Maceo and Prydz......

Very great price for Ibiza ( entrance and drink much cheaper than other club )
Line up pretty good and also the biggest club in the world + Sunrise in vista
If Promotion team make a good job they can bring many young people to the club with this ! None of other promotion team from other club can play the same card ...
