I can't believe it's a year ago :(

Don't know about anyone else but I found the tube quite eery this morning :(
 
I remember reading the thread on the board a year ago and everyone saying what was happening and what they knew, it was really strange. And frantically trying to contact my sister who lives in London.

Can't believe it's a year.
 
Can't believe nothing has been solved since 9/11 either - if anything, anti western sentiment is worse. Almost 5 years since 9/11 ffs

I remember watching it in Ibiza. We didn't have a clue what was going on. Only had Spanish news. It was a weird feeling :cry:

I hate the metro though - never any nice stories...just a reminder that there WILL be repeat attacks along with a few of the usual stories about paedophile's, gang rape, gun/knife crime and gruesome murders in midwest America. :roll:

I've given up the Metro forever from today.
Whilst we shouldn't forget, I really resented the fear based reminders that at any time, I might become a jihad platter on the central line. :?

(I drew wisdom from the great bear in my book instead) :lol:
 
I also was quite spooked out this morning. I done the exact same journey as I did a year ago... almost to the minute, and my train was delayed at Camden which was exactly what happened to me a year ago 8O

It brought back a lot of scary memories :cry: Can't believe a whole year has passed though since! 8O
 
It wasn't very pleasant this morning. I was working by liv st this time last year so didn't have to get on the tube, but i'm now over in bond st and getting on the tune this morn was spookey. Felt very strange, it felt like my hair was standing on its end. Shall never forget it.

Was worse once i got on the tube at liv st and someone set off the alarm because they had found something by the seat, not sure what it was as i couldn't see it, but the driver came on and got rid of it and we were on our way but not a nice experience.

Plenty of police around at liv st though.

not really surprising - the metro is owned by the same people as the daily mail. :roll:
 
I've already cried today watching the Number 30 bus driver being interviewed on breakfast news. He said he felt so bad because the passengers were under his care when they died. :cry:

Must admit I wimped out of tube travel today and got the overground. Although that's probably the next target. :roll:
 
I'd gotten up late that day, and missed the tube train that would have placed me in kings x at the time of the explosions. Instead I turned up to farringdon tube station and it had been closed due to "power overloads" in some of the other stations.

So I caught a cab to work. The cabbie turned on the radio and reports of a bus explosion came through about the time we had driven near enough to Kings X that we could see people covered in black soot and with blood on their hands and faces.. it was like a nightmare. By the time I got to work I was really scared to be out of my house and just wanted to get home.

We were told to leave the office when we could, so I walked home - again past kings x station but all the streets around it had been closed off, so I walked with what seemed to be the entire city on-foot, past the TV cameras from every nation imaginable. The streets were full of people walking, but everyone did so in complete silence, it was so eerie.

Finally got home and turned on the news and was still in shock at what had happened. It actually seems like a long time ago, but the memories will be crystal clear for a long time to come - I know for some of us even more so.
 
To Londeners:

After this had happened were you too scared to use the tube, etc? I know the government, etc says don't let the terrorists win... but....
 
I was on the Kings Cross train last year about 3 carriages down. Saw pictures in the paper of the tunnel with everyone walking down which brought it all back.

Felt like crying today reading about some of the guys stories who were in the actual carriages

My best mates (who im going to Ibiza with on Sun) dad lost his leg and nearly lost the other one in the Kings cross train as well. Its amazing how positive he is and how hes managed to live his life as close to normal as possible.

I definately was. I saw the bus bomb go off in Tavistock Square and for weeks afterwards it was always on my mind. I wouldnt use the tube for a few days, and even when I did if any Asian person with a rucksack got on I'd get off at the next stop. It drove Jon mad because it always took us twice as long to get home but I felt so panicky I couldnt stay on the tube. I feel ashamed of it now for being so discriminating towards Asian people, but at the time I just felt like I couldnt take the risk.

Thankfully I dont really get on buses but for a long time afterwards I would always look at them as they went past and shudder 8O :(
