The Cooper S's can be made *beep* quick too, theres a fair few with over 200BHP now and tuning doesn't cost that much. I'm driving a Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Supersport Cabriolet this week and last night a Cooper S was all over my bumper on the A43 through all the roundabouts 8O

one thing i love about my MINI, is fact that it does handle well and is great to drive, esp on winding country lanes. 8)

if i was worried about image, i would have bought myself a Ford.

Same in Moscow. There's this strange concept of woman's cars and man's cars. The Mini is considered a woman's car.... as are most extra-compact vehicles.

Pep worked for a cars brand and it's something nearly cientific. WOmen buy small cars and men buy big cars. And small cars usually are adaptated to women feet and a big guy can have serious problems to drive a mini, a C3 or a Micra :D

Don't worry, J, I don't think it's a girls car. I don't see much of a gender distinction between pieces of machinery

Last time I was in the U.S (about 2001) I actually never saw a small car once, they were all huge beasts

In my city, your coolness rite of passage  is:

Which are both clearly purchased as status symbols... given the disgustingly insane gas prices out here, and the fact that the mountains are at least two hours away

Have to admit though they sometimes turn me on :P Especially the deep rumbling sound upon acceleration... purrrrrr
