I've got a 2003 Mini Cooper S... :D
Where's your Ford Expedition? You tellin' me you drive a Mini Cooper in Dallas? Are you allowed to drive a vehicle that small in Texas? Sounds like a safety violation to me :!:

Or where's my giant truck with mud tires on it huh? I've been travelling on the road a lot and I needed something that got better gas mileage than the G35...and insurance on the G got too high when I moved to Dallas...so...I got a Mini.

But don't the big trucks all over the roads scare you? I rented a small car then I was in Houston in January and I thought I was gonna die on the highways dodging sport utility vehicles

Last time I was in the U.S (about 2001) I actually never saw a small car once, they were all huge beasts
They don't really sell many of the sub-sub-compacts in the States, like Mini, Micra, Smart, Matiz, etc. Some models you can find, others not at all.

We do have a decent amount of sub-compacts though, like the Toyota Tercel or Honda Civic.

I drove a Dodge Neon, which is a compact car and not too big.

It's a little different in North Texas...south texas...yes, lots of trucks & SUVs. Dallas is not your stereotypical texas city...lots of BMWs, Lexus', higher-end cars...

Ahh.. haven't been to Dallas since 1982 so wasn't aware.

So in Dallas, your car doesn't look small next to the neighbors', just a lot cheaper  ;)

yeah...but my wife on the other hand drives a fully loaded Infiniti QX4...the gas guzzler... :?

I really like Mini's, but think ones that have racing stripes, massive alloys and union jack on the roof etc look really tacky :?

I love minis (my first car was a mini) but I've always thought they are 'girl's cars', are they popular with boys now??

Init, guy i work with recently bought a Cooper S second hand and it had an American flag over the whole roof 8O  We took the piss every day until he had it removed

They're way to expensive for what they are too. Everything is an option and they all costs £££. A good friend of mine just bought a dealers demo Cooper Cabriolet and it cost over £20k 8O For a Mini!!! 8O Madness. He is a hairdresser and gay though so fitting the stereotype nicely there ;)

The Cooper S's can be made feckin quick too, theres a fair few with over 200BHP now and tuning doesn't cost that much. I'm driving a Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Supersport Cabriolet this week and last night a Cooper S was all over my bumper on the A43 through all the roundabouts 8O

There's a Cooper S Works on the forecourt of the BMW dealership I go past on the way home, second hand (not sure of the age) for £15k. Nice little pocket rocket. Can think of better cars for the money though.
