question for all spotlighters

and you can avoid the politics unless you spend your time in bars on Capital Hill or turn on the local news

I was staying down that way so had no choice but to frequent such establishments as Politiki, Capitol Lounge, Bullfeathers etc. etc!

Really enjoyed my time there though, was a fantastic 3 months and I was planning on going back this summer....but Ibiza took over!

I don't know if it's still open, but I used to like the Capital City Brewing Company. Great beer and the best pretzels with honey mustard anywhere!

I think Kirton Lindsey is the other side :?

(The village is called Crowle and I went to North Axholme out in the sticks and then John Leggott College in Scunny for A-Levels)

How old are you/your bro - if you're similar age Scunny and the surrounding villages are very incestuous places 8O

Crowle!!! That's as bad as Scunnie

Bro' is 37 - Me 34
I went to John Leggot on day release 86-88 - When were you there?

Re- Incestuos places, When I moved to Kirton, it was considered by the locals as acceptable, If a man went out for a meal with his wife and his sister....though that would mean there were only 2 people dining

Plus there were many locals that had not been out of the county, never mind the country....

I bet you used to go to Henry Afrika's  Or was it JJ's Monday night Nappy night

Long way from DC10

6degrees of seperation....8O

I'm 30 so was doing by A-Levels 1992 - 1994 and then I got out the place as fast as I could

I've never ever been out clubbing in Scunny, fortunately I by-passed that part of my youth

When we go back to Crowle  for Christmas it's hilarious - we went into the pub one Boxing Day to watch Chelsea and Tom is a proper born and bred cockney and it was literally a case of the pub going deadly quiet as everyone had a good look at the 'outsiders' 8O  I ordered a white wine spritzer and the landlord went rummaging round in the back and produced this old dusty bottle of Hock for me

That's so True....
I went back to my parents home in Kirton a few months back and like you, walked into the local pub... and everything stopped "including the cigarette smoke" & "Darts in mid-air"....I walked up to the bar and the local "Hard-Man" (cos all villages have a hard-man:lol: ) said - Hello, haven't seen you in years.... As soon as he said hello, everything went back to normal....you could here people saying, "it's allright, someone knows him...." followed by, stay on the road and "don't go on to the moors"....

One word.... Backwardsinbredbanjoplayers.....

I can't talk about anything I do down here without blank faces and jokes about how southerners are all poooofs...Eeee I can't wait....
You should see some of the looks I'd get for wearing sandals instead of wellies

I once mentioned Ibiza and someone said, yeah, my mates just sold one of his pigs to buy a Seat Ibiza, nice cars aren't they 8O :?

Wish me luck...

I remember all this from when I went out with a girl from Great Eccleston in Lancashire. Can you imagine the uproar when I recieved a call on my *gasp* mobile phone in her local pub in 1993!
