Pop your Cherry

First club I properly remember going to was Pure at the Venue in Edinburgh in late 91 or early 92. Techno. Dark. Sweaty. Very good indeed.

My friend took me to a rave in Austin just before graduation. If that is not clubbing, then my cherry popped when I was 25 in Laguna. I have been a very late bloomer when it comes to many of life's pleasures.

The Chelsea Reach, New Brighton, 1994, aged 14.

First proper club was cream, 1996, Paul Oakenfold playing flouro style goan trance in the annexe.

Disco 2000 @ Limelight, NYC - I had been to other clubs (CBGB, Ritz) for rock shows, etc. but Limelight opened my eyes to another world...

I think the name of the night was 'Fresh' and it was a club for kids below legal drinking age.
I just remembered I went to one of these underage no-alcohol clubs in Ocean City, Maryland when I was about 13 (must have been summer of '85). It was called Shark. Very funny evening  Think I'll still count Trax as my first real club though.

Mine was new years eve 1998.
I went to a local club called BUZZ at the time, remember walking in and seeing 3 lads dressed as ghostbusters.

Went to various raves, was a regular @ Pure Science,at atomics in Maidstone.

First proper rave was at the place oposite the police station in totenham think it was called the Temple at the time ? remember going into Mcdonalds and a rasta type guy came up to us and said do you want any E's. My mate nieve as his is miss heard andsaid wht mate you have lost ur keys !

did a few years raving, used to go to the REX in stratford (is that still there ?) Bagly's, Started my own garage night and got into DJing.

Went to IBIZA (Thank God) and have never looked back since !!
So glad, it changed my life forever i had just split with my childhood sweetheart and i was gong off the rails. IBIZA sorted my right ouu.

1968 warrington co-op soul saturday
You beat me by a year Stephen, :D
1969 Billy Botto's Bottoms Up Club in my hometown Consett (nicknamed 'Bottos'). Was formerly a cabaret club with bunny girls and a casino. Changed to a disco nightclub when the gambling laws changed in 1968. Met Millie (My Boy Lollipop) outside in 1968, one of the last cabaret acts to perform there. Started my DJing career there in December 1976 when I took over as resident DJ (jeez nearly 30 years ago! 8O ). Is still a nightclub with different owners, I DeeJayed at a party in there just last year and am currently in negotiations for DeJaying in there again. ;)
