Pop your Cherry

A few warehouse raves in London town around '88/89 then ....

Occasions (acid!) and Nimmo's (allnighter) around '93 in Sheffield.

... followed by Love2Be at the Music Factory - Sheffield (& once in Leeds)

There's a name from the past - yay went to it @ the Warehouse in Leeds. Plus Up Yer Ronson and Hard Times, Leeds was such a fab city in the early 90s.

Leeds??!! i LOVE Leeds. Went to Uni there - ended up going to BackToBasics mostly and it has the best pub crawl down the Otley Road. Also at the same time managed to pop to Manchester and went to the last Hacienda night - brill!

Up Yer Ronson was my first club in Leeds (not counting student nights  ). Must have been 1996.

First time in a proper club was Manumission the previous year aged 18 - I thought I'd been abducted by aliens.8O

What got me into it properly in London - The Gallery at Turnmills.

The Otley Run - what a classic. :p

First club EVER - erm... god I think I managed to get into Destinys in Watford when I was about 13 :?

First proper all nighter - Addicted to Dance @ The Pleasure Rooms, Tottenham, August 1999. God what a death trap!

Went to various raves from 1999-2001, Slammin Vinyl, One Nation, Helter Skelter, Dreamscape, Garage Nation etc. Progressed onto Hardhouse from about 2001-2002, Peach, Frantic, Hard House Academy, Crasher, Godskitchen etc. Finally moved onto "proper" house music in about 2003 when I started going to grown up clubs like Turnmills, Ministry, The End etc.

But I'm still a raver in me roots  I can only stand so much of this fancy house stuff ;)

 I don't think She Boggles are allowed to Middle Earth

Oh, do you have to go to Narnia then?? I reckon you'll be OK getting into Middle Earth when you're with the gollum.

God, what am I talking about?? I think this kind of thing is best discussed at sea.

The Plymouth Warehouse and Cornwall Coliseum...

...both Dance Planet gabber parties in '93-'94. 8O

(Nick - I used to do those big Bournemouth Slinky things at the BIC too. ;))

I think you're right, let's discreetly leave this thread now cos it's not 'normal' conversation for this time and resume it next time we're away from dry land

  I used to always get lost there as they have curtains leading you about with bouncers hiding behind them 8O

I think it was a Ministry of Sound night in Tenerife when I was 14:p

After that, I used to go to a place called Esko in Aberdeen when i was 16, and remembered being appalled at some of the antics:lol:

In Ibiza, think my first ever club was Cream @ Amnesia when I was 17, still totally appalled and more or less unaware of the whole drug scene around me:lol:

I can't remember what year it was, but went to some manky old raves at the bus barns and old bowling alleys here in Edmonton....i remember they used to have the most crap venues.... but a very home-grown crowd. then when i moved to london for a bit in about 1995 I remember going to the Gallery at Turnmills.. and what was it called on saturday.. heavenly social(??).... and i can't even remember... that whole year was a blur:oops:

A warehouse on an industrial estate in Burnley Lancashire aged 15 (which also coincided with my first taste of police brutality:?). First proper club was The Hacienda to see A Guy Called Gerald (Voodoo Ray anyone?). Apparently he didn't turn up, but I was way too spogged to notice.
